Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from yesterday's State Tournament action.

Brentwood Academy 6, Pope John Paul 2
James Rosen led the way for Brentwood in this win, going 2-3 with an RBI.  The Eagles also used 1-3 efforts from Conner Woodlee and Sam Gonas, in which they combined for a run and 3 RBI.  Ryan Franklin got the complete-game victory, striking out 9 without allowing an earned run.  Pace Dempsey went 2-3 with an RBI for the Knights.

Christian Brothers 4, McCallie 3
The Purple Wave used a 2-3 performance by Hayden Leatherwood and an impressive outing from Jared Shemper to catapult themselves into Thursday’s state championship game.  Leatherwood scored a run, as John Bland also contributed a hit, a run, and an RBI.  Shemper threw all 8 innings of the extra-inning victory and struck out 11.  Griff Jayne had two hits for McCallie.

Brentwood Academy 5, McCallie 0
Kelton Reynolds sent Brentwood Academy to their state championship game with a complete-game shutout performance that included 6 strikeouts and only 5 hits allowed.  Offensively, Conner Woodlee and Garrett Smith each had 2 hits, while Smith piled on 2 RBI and a run scored.  Warren Preston also went 1-3 with a run and an RBI, as well.

Harding Academy 8, ECS 5
Jake Criswell’s 4-4 day that included an RBI and 3 runs scored led Harding Academy’s offensive attack, while four other Lions had 2 hits and two others scored 2 runs.  Nathan Ruble got the win and Casey Harford garnered the save.  Benton Garrison went 3-3 and Riley Watkins had 2 hits and scored 2 runs for ECS.

FRA 9, Davidson Academy 1
Kenny Cooper, Dalton Ney, and Walker Palmerton each had two hits for Panthers, as the trio combined for 5 runs and 4 RBI, sending FRA to their championship game.  Cooper and Palmerton each recorded a double, while Ney hit a home run and earned the win, on the mound.  Ney struck out 5 and allowed 5 hits in the game.  Ethan Tressler went 2-3 for the Bears.

Harding Academy 1, Davidson Academy 0
Noah Sharp and Casey Harford combined for the shutout, as Sharp completed 6 innings, surrendering only 4 hits and striking out 3.  Harford earned the save without allowing a hit in the seventh inning.  The Lions weren’t able to do a whole lot offensively, but were able to scrape a singular run in the second inning, which proved to be enough to send them into Thursday’s championship.

Siegel 6, Collierville 5
Ryker Kristinus went 2-4 with 2 RBI and Jordan Middleton went 2-4 with 3 RBI and scored a run to lift Siegel over Collierville.  Kristinus and Middleton both had RBI hits in the bottom of the 7th inning to give the Stars a walk-off victory.  John Langworthy earned the win, as he threw a hitless 6th and 7th.  Adam Sanderlin hit a home run in Collierville’s loss.

Summit 11, Sevier County 0
Wil Dalton dominated at the plate, going 4-4 with a triple, a home run, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored to lift the Spartans to the win.  Ryan McGill also had 2 hits and Davis Jackson dealt the complete-game shutout.  Jackson allowed only 5 hits, while striking out 5.  Devante Matthews went 2-3 in the Sevier County loss.

Siegel 10, Sevier County 0
Jacob Key went 3-4 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored, while Drew Benefield recorded a double, a home run, 3 RBI, and 1 run to help lead the Stars to victory.  CJ Murray and Zac Pearson both had 2 hits, as well.  John Langworthy threw all 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and striking out 4. 

Farragut 7, Ravenwood 3
Parker Noland led the Admirals to this elimination round victory, as he recorded 3 hits, 1 run, and an RBI at the plate.  Jake Hagenow went 1-3 with a home run and 3 RBI, as well.  Duncan Pence had a hit, scored 3 runs, and got the win on the mound.  Pence threw 4.2 innings of relief, striking out 9 and allowing only 1 hit.

Arlington 1, Stewart’s Creek 0
After 7 innings of scoreless baseball, Arlington’s Tate Kolwyck hit a solo home run to give the Tigers the only run they would need.  It was Kolwyck’s second hit of the day, but the biggest one of the day.  Austin Mayfield, Zach Gresham, Ryan Taylor, and Hayden Edwards combined to throw 8 innings of shutout baseball, while striking out 9 and allowing only 5 hits.  Gresham Mosley had 3 hits for the Red Hawks.

Stewart’s Creek 9, Farragut 4
Brandon Dial went 2-4 with 1 run and 1 RBI, Micah McClellan went 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and Gresham Mosley added another 2 hits to the Red Hawk offense.  All nine of Stewart’s Creek’s starters had at least one hit in the game.  Luke Alexander earned the win.  Carmelo Vanero had a hit, a run, and 2 RBI for Farragut. 

Milan 4, Greeneville 2
Mason Holden went 2-3 with 2 runs and Landon Walker went 2-3 with 2 RBI to lead the Bulldogs over Greeneville.  Connor Creasy got the complete-game victory for Milan, allowing 5 hits and striking out 6.  Steven Layman had a hit and 2 RBI for the Green Devils.

Spring Hill 4, Murfreesboro Central 2
Spring Hill got a lift from both Brycen Thomas and Brenon Sanders, as they both went 2-4 with an RBI for the Raiders.  Taylor Warwick scored two runs and Zach King got the win by striking out 12 in his 5 innings of work.  Thomas got the save and struck out 3 without giving up a hit in the last 2 innings of play.  Darek Sargent had two hits for the Tigers.

Chester County 9, Upperman 2
Drew Hill helped lead Chester County to the elimination win over Upperman by going 3-3 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI in Wednesday’s matchup.  Harrison Taylor went 2-3, as six of the Eagles’ 9 hitters recorded at least 1 hit and 1 RBI on the day.  Hill also threw 3 innings, allowing only 1 run.  Todd Stanton went 3-4 for the Bees.

Christ Presbyterian Academy 4, Christian Academy of Knoxville 1
Devin McKnight dominated the game from the mound, dealing all 7 innings, allowing only 2 hits and no earned runs on 3 strikeouts.  Offensively, Cooper Reynolds went 2-3 with a run and an RBI for the Lions.  Sam Knell also had a double.

Chester County 6, Christian Academy of Knoxville 2
Six of the Eagles’ nine starters recorded 1 run and 1 run, led by Nick Armour.  Malcolm Tipler threw the whole game and got the win for Chester County.  Trey Hinton went 3-4 for CAK.

Gordonsville 7, Meigs County 6
Bobby Parliment hit a home run and finished 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, while Mitchell Kirby recorded 3 hits, 1 RBI and 1 run scored.  Joey Parliment also had 2 hits and scored 2 runs for the Tigers.  Lake Underwood got the win, after throwing 2 innings of hitless relief.  Logan Fowler had 2 hits, 2 RBI, and scored a run for Meigs County.

Scotts Hill 4, Loretto 1
Evan Russell hit a home run and finished with 2 RBI for the Lions to help lead them to their second round victory over Loretto.  Herbert Carter added 2 hits and an RBI and Thomas Kimmel threw all 7 innings, allowing 5 hits and striking out 4.  Jacob Laws had two of Loretto’s 5 hits.

Loretto 13, Gordonsville 5
Kendall Franklin and Jacob Laws had huge games for the Mustangs, finishing 4-4 with 3 runs and an RBI and 3-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI, respectively.  Ryan Weathers hit a home run and Franklin ended up closing the game out, pitching the final 2.1 innings and striking out 4.  Bobby and Joey Parliment combined for 4 hits and 3 runs in the loss.

Goodpasture 8, Forrest 2
Levi Thomas, Zach Wallace, Ryan Lyle, and Jayme Gregory each had 3 hits, combining for 12 of Goodpasture’s 13 hits in the game.  Together, they also amassed 3 doubles, 3 runs, and 5 RBI on the day.  Wallace also got the win, throwing all 7 innings.  Jacob Jones had 2 hits and 2 RBI for Forrest.

Knoxville Grace 12, Jackson Christian 7
The Rams were led by Ross Ledford and his 4-5, 2 home run performance.  Ledford scored 3 runs and tallied 5 RBI on the day.  Micah Wheeler added another 3 hits, including a home run, 4 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Four other Rams had two hits in the game.  Nathan Atkinson got the win for Knoxville Grace, allowing only 1 hit in his 5.2 innings pitched.  Hayden Love had a hit, a run, and 2 RBI for the Eagles.

Jackson Christian 7, Goodpasture 4
The Eagles were led by Hayden Love again in the nightcap, as he finished 3-4 with 2 runs and an RBI.  Miles Humphreys added a home run and Hunter Higdon registered 2 hits, scored a run, and earned the win on the mound.  Love got the save by getting the final 2 outs of the game.  Cole Carter, Ryan Lyle, and Jayme Gregory each had 2 hits for the Cougars.
