Damascus made quick work of the visiting Poolesville Falcons Saturday afternoon scoring runs in each of the games five innings. Logan Wentzlaff jump started the offense for the Swarmin' Hornets with a leadoff homerun to left center field in the bottom of the first and Nick Marley held the Falcons hitters at bay for a majority of the game in the 14-4 route.

Poolesville answered in the top of the second loading the bases on a Luke Trythall base hit and two walks. Alex Pope then singled back up the middle to plate two and a third crossed on a passed ball later in the inning. Poolesville's 3-1 lead was short-lived however, as Damascus took advantage of seven walks by Poolesville pitching in the second inning to score five runs on two hits.

Things got exciting in the third when Poolesville attempted to steal home plate not once - but twice. Max Fisher successfully stole home to cut the lead to 6-4 but Tommy Stoughton was caught to end the inning and the rally. Damascus would go on to score eight consecutive runs to end the game by mercy rule in the 5th inning taking advantage of 13 free passes to go along with their 11 team hits.

Marley went the distance for the win surrendering four runs (three earned) on four hits, five walks and struck out three. The Swarmin' Hornets offense was lead by Wentzlaff (2-for-3, HR, 2 BB, 2 RBI, 2 R), Mark Kline (2-for-2, 2B, 2 BB, RBI, 2 R), Jackson Thomas (1-for-3, BB, 2 RBI, R), and Cole Leslie (3-for-3, 2B, BB, RBI, 2 R).
