Diamond Notes: 4.1 - 4.7

The 2019 high school season is well underway. Yesterday, 2019 LHP Walker Ladner (Florence HS) was named the Player of the Week for April 1st  – April 7th. This week’s decision was a tough one, as there were several worthy nominees for the honor. We take a look at the other nominations sent in by coaches around the state in this week’s Diamond Notes.

Gunnar Dennis (Pearl HS) went 5-for-6 with two home runs while driving in eight runs.

Reed Trimble (Northwest Rankin HS) was 3-for-4 with two home runs (one being a grand slam) and seven RBI’s during the past week of competition.

Collin Young ( Resurrection HS) ended the week 13-for-17 with three HR, two doubles, six RBIs, 11 runs scored, and seven stolen bases.  On top of having an incredible offensive week, Collin was perfect defensively not committing a single error

Brady Davis (Hamilton) recorded nine hits in fourteen at bats which included two home runs, a triple and three doubles while driving in fourteen runs.
Conner Davis hit .583 on the week posting an OPS of 1.167 while playing solid defensive not committing an error
Will Long (Ripley HS) East Miss CC signee, pitched a complete game striking out seven in a  4-3 victory.
