District Champions Begin to Emerge



In updated District Championship info:
Class 5:
In District 2, Vianney beat up on Oakville 17-2 and will face Seckman inthe sectional round next week.  Vianney jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first on a two RBI triple by Nick Allgeyer and a two run homerun off the bat of Matt Jones. Allgeyer finished 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. 

Eureka defeated Marquette in the District 3 championship game 6-5 and will face the winner of the District 4 game, either CBC or Parkway North in the next round of playoffs. Seven Marquette errors did them in, and Eureka capitalized on the mistakes. 

In District 11, Branson defeated Nixa 4-2 to advance to the next round, and will square off against District 12 champions and 2012 Final Four participant Willard. Willard defeated Neosho 11 to 7.

For Banson, Tyler Whiteis, who has reached base safely in 14 consecutive plate appearances, went 3-for-3 with an RBI and allowed one earned run on six hits to pick up the win on the mound. 

Luke Latham and Nik Taylor, who both homered, led Willard. 

SLUH captured their 23rd consecutive District title, defeating Ladue 2-1 in nine innings on a walk off single by John Ceriotti in the bottom of the ninth. Brian Howard threw all nine innings for SLUH to pick up the win. SLUH will face the winner of the District 6 championship game, Hazelwood West or Hazelwood Central, who play today at 4:15. 

In District 13, Rockhurst got the best of Lee’s Summit West again, 11-1, and advance to face District 14 champions Blue Springs South, who defeated Lee’s Summit North 10-2. Blue Springs South was led by Reece Eddins, who threw a complete game, hit an RBI single in the first to get the scoring started, and delivered a solo homerun 

In District 16 Staley beat up on Park Hill 11-1 to advance, and face the winner of the District 15 title game between Liberty and Ft. Osage. 

Class 4:
Ste. Genevieve advances, capturing the District 2 title over DeSoto 5 to 4 in nine innings, and will face the winner of the District 1 championship game between Notre Dame and Sikeston. 

In District 10, Logan Rogersville got past Mt. Vernon 5-1, and advance to play the District 9 champion, which will be Sullivan or Eldon.

Seneca continue to impress, defeating Monett 10-2 to capture the District 11 title. Seneca will face the winner of the District 12 game between Nevada and Warrensburg.

In District 13, Oak Grove shut out Odessa 10-0 to win their second consecutive district title. Connor Matson threw a complete game one hitter and struck out eight. Oak Grove will face off against the winner of the District 14 game, Pembroke Hill vs O’Hara.

 

Class 3:
In District 1 New Madrid upset Malden in a big way, 15-0 to advance to the Sectional round, and will face District 2 champions Scott City, who outslugged Clearwater 12-11. 

JaShawn McDaniel (3-for-4), Dylan Milisits (2-for-3), and Tripp Keene (2-for-3) had multiple hits for New Madrid, and McDaniel picked up the win on the mound. 

In District 6, O’Fallon Christian defeated Lutheran St. Peters to capture the title, and will face District 5 champion Lutheran North. 

The District 7 championship goes to Palmyra, who blanked Bowling Green 7-0. Palmyra will face the winner of the District 8 championship game between Hallsville and Wright City. 

Cuba knocked off Dixon 10-2 in the District 9 title game and will face District 10 champions Springfield Catholic, who dominated Ava 12-2. 

Rob Ruzicka’s second inning grand slam was the big blow for Catholic. Tyler Ast scattered five hits in four innings to pick up the win. 

In the District 11 title game, Forsyth’s Justin Borrow’s walk off single in the seventh secured the win 7-6, and Jay Kauffman’s gritty performance on the mound kept Clever in check. Forsyth will face off against District 12 champions Fair Grove, who defeated Lamar 13-1. 

In District 16. Maryville outslugged Bishop LeBlond 18-11 to take home the title. Maryville will face either Lawson or Richmond in the next round.


Class 2:
District 2 crowned East Carter champions, defeating Neeleyville to advance and face the winner of the District 1 championship game between Holcomb and Potrageville. 

Chaffee defeated Bloomfield 3-0 in the District 3 title game and will face District 4 champion and Class 2 favorite Valle Catholic. Valle blasted Bismarck 19 to 4.

Valle Catholic scored 12 first inning runs to jump out to an early lead. Tyler Litterest starred, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and was also the winning pitcher. 

In District 9, Belle defeated Iberia 4-3 to advance to the sectional round, and will face the winner of the Hartville/Norwood contest. Norwood is looking like a possible Class 2 Cinderella team. 

In District 11, Billings defeated Spokane 5-4 and will face District 12 champs Purdy. 

Archie captured the District 14 title with a win over College Heights Christian 14-5 and will take on either Skyline or Cole Camp from District 13. 

In District 15, Sacred Heart defeated Windsor 8-2 and will face the winner of the District 16 championship game between West Platte and East Buchanon.


Class 1:

District 2 title game went nine innings, with Oran knocking off Oak Ridge 6-5. Oran will face the winner of the Cooter/Delta District 1 game in the next round. 

In District 4, Bakersfield beat Eminence 12-0 to advance to the sectional round. 

In District 5, Dadeville defeated Halfway 13-3, and will face the winner of the District 6 game between Golden City and McAuley Catholic. 

In District 7, Drexel shut out Sheldon 7-0 and will face District 8 champion Weaubleau in the next round. 

In District 12, La Plata beat up on Marion County 13-1 and will face the winner of the District 11 game between Sturgeon and Silex. 

In District 15, Northeast Cairo defeated Bevier 10-1 and will take on the District 16 champion, that will be either Linn County or South Nodaway.
