Crawfordsville, IN—North Montgomery squared off with conference foe Tri-West last night in a game that saw freshman lead a fairly young North Montgomery team to their 11th win this year.  With the win, North Montgomery improved to 8-2 in the Sagamore conference.

On the mound, North Montgomery was paced by junior Mitch Rice. Rice went the distance, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out six. Rice is also leading the team in hitting at.447 with a homerun.

Last night, however, the offense was carried by two freshman. Devan Zachary and Baylee Adams combined to go 5-5 with four RBI, and three runs scored. Zachary is a big bodied DH/C that hits from the right side, while Adams is more slender built with good bat speed and plays LF. Joining the two freshman is sophomore SS Maverick Bacon, which gives North Montgomery a good young nucleus of talent, making them a threat in the coming years.

North Montgomery blew the game open in the 5th which was keyed by a double of the bat of Zachary. The final score was 6-2.
