Sectional 1

Munster 9 Highland 1 – Jonathan Azar got the win throwing all seven innings, allowing two hits, no earned runs, and striking out nine. Azar had no hitter going into the sixth inning. Joe Jumonville was 3-5 with two RBI and two runs to lead the offense. Nick Marlow drove in three runs, Mike Mueller drove in two runs and scored once, and Craig Dedelow was 3-5 with a double and two runs scored.

Lake Central 8 Lowell 2 – Antonio Majstorov threw a complete game allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out seven to get the win. Brenden Seren homered and drove in two, Ryan Burvan was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored, and Alec Olund was 2-4 with two runs. Alex Mantel was 2-3 with a double and two runs.

Hammond Morton 9 Gary West Side 1 – Toby Mielenz threw a complete game allowing one run on one hit and striking out six to get the win.

Sectional 2

Portage 2 Valparaiso 1 – Kevin Jones throw a complete game three hitter allowing one run and struck out 13 to get the win.  At the plate he led the offense going 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Patrick Derr scored the other run and Chris Klenk doubled.

Merrillville 10 Michigan City 0 – Brett Deline through a five inning shut to get the win allowing three hits and striking out five.

Elkhart Central 5 Northridge 0 – Story later today

Elkhart Memorial 5 Warsaw 3 F/8 – Elkhart got the first run of the eighth on a sac fly from Jake Tucker and an error led to the other run. Mike Miller doubled and drove in two and Justin Oberlin doubled and drove in a run.

Griffith 10 Hammond Clark 0 – Jesse Smith threw a complete game shutout allowing two hits and striking out eight to get the win, at the plate he drove in two runs. Brett Brinkley was 3-4 with a double, RBI, and a run scored to lead the offense.  Anthony Quintero was 1-1 with a double, RBI, and two runs and Josh Tersarial doubled and scored twice.

Hanover Central 13 Knox 3 – Dan Stum has a big game going 4-5 with a double, triple, five RBI, and three runs. Jesse Wilkening was 1-3 with a RBI and three runs and Riley Welch was 2-5 with a double and two RBI. Brenden Sears and Zac Maciejewski each had a hit, RBI, and three runs.

Jimtown 3 New Prairie 0 – Nick Floyd got the win throwing a complete game shutout allowing three hits and striking out nine, he also drove in a run. Evan Oblinger doubled and scored twice.

Culver Academies 6 Mishawaka Marian 5 F/8 – After Marian scored two runs in the top of the 8th, Culver scored three in the bottom and won the game on a balk. Kyle Bartelman and Anthony McHugh each had a RBI and a run scored. Perley Provost and Daniel Billett each drove in a run.

Crawfordsville 11 North Montgomery 1 - Chandler Pursell got the win throwing six innings allowing one run on three hits to help Crawfordsville reach the sectional champsionship game.

Guerin Catholic 4 Mt. Vernon 3 - JohnMichael Augstinovicz was 1-3 with a RBI and Mark Boylan also drove in a run. Adam Glaze and Luke Labus each went 2-4 with a run scored and Greg Sobecki scored twice.

West Vigo 6 South Vermillion 4 – Lucas Fagg got the win throwing 6.2 innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and striking out six. Alec Blair doubled and drove in three runs, Brandin Behringer hit a solo homerun and scored twice, and Schaffer was 1-2 with a RBI and a run scored. Kump also drove in a run and scored.

Hammond Bishop Noll 11 Wheeler 5 – Julian Guerreron led the offense going 4-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. Chad Mateja got the win throwing four innings allowing four runs, five hits, and striking out four.

River Forest 4 Lake Station Edison 3 - River Forest scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to get the win. Chris Lauderback got the win throwing 6.1 innings allowing three runs, two hits, and striking out four.

Boone Grove 2 Hebron 0 – Dean Hill got the win throwing a complete game four hit shutout and striking out five. Jake Wright had Boone Grove’s only hit and scored and Cody Poynter also scored a run.

LaCrosse 25 Covenant Christian (DeM) 3 – Bryce Guse was 2-3 with four RBI and four runs scored and Jared Dyjak was 2-3 with a homerun, three RBI, and four runs. Andrew McCormick was 3-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run and Wylie Brown was 2-3 with two RBI and three runs scored.

Morgan Township 6 Kouts 0 – Joe Dougherty threw a complete game shutout allowing two hits and striking out 10 to get the win, at the plate he was 2-3 with two runs. Will Swisher was 2-3 with a double and two runs and Austin Porter was 3-4 with a RBI and a run scored.  Adam Rettinger was 1-3 with a RBI and a run and Bo Anderson was 2-2 with a run.

North White 7 Pioneer 1

Tri-County 9 South Newton 1 – Lucas Vosburgh threw a complete game allowing one run, seven hits, and struck out two to get the win. Shae Lear was 3-4 with two RBI and Skylar Sanders was 3-3. Zack Patton and Riley Benner each went 3-5 with a RBI and a run scored and Paul Budde was 2-4 with a RBI.

Westville 6 Argos 4 – Chase Kourtis and Austin Swistek each went 2-4 with two RBI, Kourtis also scored once. Taylor Gilliam was 3-3 with a RBI and a run scored and Austin Hisick was 3-4 with a run. Swistek got the win on the mound throwing seven innings allowing one earned run on five hits and struck out five.

Elkhart Christian 6 Lakewood 3 – A four run bottom of the fifth gave Elkhart the lead for good. Caleb Stayton picked up the win throwing five innings allowing two runs. Tanner Watson had two hits and drove in two runs and Kenny Bears had two hits and scored twice.

Indiana Deaf 4 Greenwood Christian 2 – Cody Grace got the win throwing a complete game to send Indiana Deaf to the sectional Championship game.

University 11 Bethesda Christian 1 – Eric Wott picked up the win throwing all five innings allowing four hits. Isaac Mervis, Nicholas Klemsz, and Shawn Miller each drove in two runs. University scored ten runs in the third inning to get the win.

Borden 10 New Washington 3 – David Vansant and Kyle Kruer led the offense in the win. Vansant was 3-4 with two RBI and a run and Kruer was 3-5 with a double, triple, RBI, and two runs. Brian McGee was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored and Jared Sanders was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs.

South Central (Eliz.) 16 Rock Creek Academy 0 – Corey Ray threw a complete game one hit shutout to send South Central into the Championship game.

South Central (Eliz.) 5 Borden 4 – Jason Boston drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh with a RBI double to win the sectional championship. Boston also got the win on the mound. Corey Ray drove in two runs and Parker Gebhart drove in a run.
