Consistent offense and stellar pitching was all the Gaithersburg Trojans needed as the Trojans defeated their rivals, the Quince Orchard Cougars 7-2 on Monday afternoon.

After a scoreless first inning from both sides, the scoring would get started in the first inning at the Trojans would get the first run of the game across on a Manny Diaz double to left center to give the Trojans an early 1-0 lead. That would be short-lived as the Cougars would immediately strike back in the bottom of the inning off a Luke Evans RBI single to right-field to knot the game up at 1 apiece. That would remain the score heading to the fourth.

In the fourth, Gaithersburg would add two run in the inning when Noah Tabaie put a well hit double down the left field line that would score Ryan Kelly and Logan Nocket. Quince Orchard would cut into the lead in the bottom half with one run to make the score 3-2.

The score would remain that until the top of the sixth when the Trojans broke the game open the next two innings, adding two runs in each half while keeping the Quince Orchard offense at bay to extend their lead to 7-2 which would be come the final. Will Wikner and Doug Marose had RBI singles in the third while Daniel Feliciano had a sac fly in the seventh for the Trojan RBI's.

Tabaie led the Trojans going 3-for-3 with two RBI. Wikner, Marose and Kelly each had two hits apiece. Justin McDermott got the start and win for the Trojans, scattering four hits through 3.1 innings. Marose pitched 3.2 innings of one-hit ball for the save.

Quince Orchard was led by Evans, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
