Catholic defeated Sheridan 9-0 in the winner’s bracket of the Benton Invitational.
The Rockets road a dominant pitching staff and took advantage of some mistakes made by Sheridan defensively.
2016 LHP Dylan Thompson and 2018 LHP Evan Hiatt threw 7 innings allowing 0 hits while striking out 13.
A strong point for the Sheridan was 2017 David Rainwater, he flashed above average tools being effectively wild holding the Rocket offense at bay for three innings.
Catholic’s offense used a systematic approach to grind out 9 runs, executing the run game, bunting and getting hits with two outs. It was a complete team effort and another productive offensive performance two consecutive games.
