Regional 2: Champ – Homestead

Homestead 3 FW Snider 2 – Homestead scored twice on a Matt Anderson double in the bottom of the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. DJ Moore threw a complete game to get the win allowing two runs on five hits, striking out nine. Derek Meyers went 2-3 with a run scored, Joey Deeter was 1-1 with a run, Brady Sheehan was 2-3, and Drew Lunsford scored once.

Lafayette Harrison 8 Hamilton Southeastern 7 – Harrison scored four in the top of the fifth to take the lead 5-4. After surrendering two runs in the bottom, they answered with a three run top of the six to take the lead for good. A Matt Roop sac fly tied the game at six and Carter Bridge tripled in two runs to take the lead. HSE had the tying run on second with two outs but Leighton Mennen induced a ground out to end the game. Bridge went 2-4 with four RBI and a run, Jacob Chase was 1-2 with a RBI and a run, Max Hanas was 1-2 with a double, RBI, and a run, Jake Fernung was 1-2 with a RBI, and Matt McConnell was 1-1 with two runs.

Homestead 5 Lafayette Harrison 1 – Joey Deeter hit a RBI double in the top of the fourth to get Homestead on the board and tie the game at one. Matt Anderson and Luke Wilcox each drew bases loaded walks later in the inning to give Homestead a 3-1 lead. Cameron Miller got the win throwing 4.2 innings allowing three hits, one unearned run, and struck out one. Bailey Waugh threw two shutout innings, striking out four and Anderson struck out the final batter to close out the game. Nick Davit went 1-3 with a RBI and a run, Wilcox finished 1-2 with two RBI, Brady Sheehan was 2-3, and Drew Lunsford went 2-4 with a run scored.

 

Regional 3: Champ – Terre Haute North

Terre Haute North 2 Decatur Central 0 – Greg Hannum threw a great game on the mount for North going all seven innings allowing just two hits and struck out nine. North’s offence finally broke through in the top of the sixth when Brandon Curley hit a sac fly to bring in Aric Wisbey. Brett Herndon added an insurance run with a RBI single in the top of the seventh. Cody Maloon went 1-3 with a run, Nick Barrett was 1-2, Brandon Taylor was 1-1, and Nick Rush was 1-3.

Pendleton Heights 3 Lawrence North 2 – Pendleton Heights trailed 2-0 going into the sixth, but scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to get the win. Corbin Cox hit a two run single to tie the game and Spencer McCool’s RBI single gave PH their first lead. Phillip Lawson went 2-2 with a double and a run and Logan Robertson was 1-2 with a run. Quentin Miller got the win throwing the final 3.2 innings allowing one run on two hits and struck out eight.

Terre Haute North 9 Pendleton Heights 2 – North scored four in the second, three in the third, and two in the fourth to take a commanding 9-0 lead. Nine runs was more than enough for North starter Tristan Pate, who went all seven innings allowing one earned run, six hits, and struck out 11. Brett Herndon (2-4) got the offense started with a grand slam in the second and Cody Maloon (2-3, two runs) hit a three run homerun the following inning. Aric Wisbey was 3-5 with a run, TJ Collett singled in a run, Nick Rush was 1-3 with two runs, Chase Jones doubled, and Nick Barrett was 1-4 with a run.

 

Regional 4: Champ – Bloomington South

Bloomington South 8 Floyd Central 6 – South knocked off its second Top 4 team in as many weeks. Trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the sixth, South had its second four run inning of the game to take the lead. Cole McNeely had a two run double to tie the game and Nick Wright singled in McNeely to take the lead. McNeely was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs, Henry Niswander went 2-4 with a RBI and a run, Devin Buctman was 1-4 with two RBI, Wright was 1-4 with two RBI and two runs, and Isaiah Shake doubled and scored twice. Prince threw all seven innings to get the win, allowing just three earned runs.

Evansville Reitz 4 Center Grove 3

Bloomington South 4 Evansville Reitz 3 – South pitcher Nick Wright threw a complete game, stranding the tying run in scoring position to end the game. Wright allowed five hits, just one earned run, and struck out one to get the win. South trailed 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Tyler Van Pelt singled and an error by the right fielder let JC Lukens and Van Pelt to both scored giving South a 3-2 lead. South got a big insurance run in the sixth with an Eli Hughes RBI single. Van Pelt finished the day 2-2 with a RBI and two runs, Chase Daab was 1-4 with a run, and Henry Niswander doubled.

Regional 5: Champ – Andrean

Andrean 7 SB St. Joe 3 – Andrean scored five run in the first two innings. In the first Kevin McCune got the offense started with a three run homerun. In the second Chase Dawson and Nick Podkul each had RBI singles to give Andrean a 5-0 lead. Podkul finished the day 3-3 with two RBI and a run, Dawson was 2-4 with two RBI and a run, Johnny Albomonte was 1-3 with two runs, and Luke Jaksich was 2-3. Jaksich picked up the win on the mound throwing six innings allowing three runs on three hits, striking out seven. Jacob O’Donnell came in to close out the game allowing one hit and striking out one.

Griffith 11 Peru 0 – Griffith broke a 0-0 tie with a four run third inning and scored in each of the next three innings. Josh Terzarial was dominant on the mound throwing all six innings allowing just one hit and struck out 10. Amir Wright went 2-4 with two doubles, a RBI, and a run, Terzarial went 3-4 with two doubles, a triple, and a RBI, Robbie Hernandez went 2-3 with a RBI and a run, Julian Rutherford went 2-4 with two RBI, Denny Colomes was 1-2 with two RBI, Kody Hoese was 2-4 with a run, and Brett Tauber was had two RBI and a run.

Andrean 12 Griffith 5 – Andrean scored in six of seven innings, racking up 20 hits in the win. Griffith had a 3-1 lead after the first, Andrean knotted the game in the second with a two run inning, and took the lead for good in the third on a Luke Jaksich two run doubled. Kevin McCune came on in relief to get the win on the mound throwing the final five innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out two. Noah Davis was 4-4 with a double and a RBI, Parker Huttler went 3-5 with a double, three RBI, and two runs, Jaksich was 2-4 with a three RBI and a run, Alex Vode was 3-4 with a double and a RBI, Nick Podkul went 2-4 with two RBI, and Chase Dawson was 2-4 with a double, RBI, and a run.

 

Regional 6: Champ – Heritage

FW Bishop Dwenger 8 Yorktown 7 F/9 – Trailing 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh a RBI groundout from Noah Freimuth brought in the tying run to send the game to extras. In the bottom of the ninth a two out error allowed Freimuth to score from second for the win. Jack Harris was 2-3 with a double, homerun, and three RBI, Freimuth hit a solo homerun, Cameron Kahlenbeck went 1-3 with a double, two RBI, and a run. Dalton O’Boyle got the win throwing the final 4.2 innings, not allowing a run, striking out five, and giving up three hits.

Heritage 4 NorthWood 2 – Branson Dossen went the distance to send Heritage into the Regional Final allowing two runs on four hits and struck out seven. Andrew Saalfrank led the offense going 2-3 with a homerun and three RBI. Jacob Hockemeyer went 2-3 and drove in the other run, Nathan Roop doubled and scored, William Lomow and Dossen each went 1-3 with a run, and Corey Gerardot was 2-2.

Heritage 5 FW Bishop Dwenger 2 – Andrew Saalfrank threw a no hitter in the win, allowing two unearned runs, and struck out 13. Heritage scored in the first on a Brandon Dossen solo homerun and never surrendered the lead. Jacque Jacquay went 2-3 with two RBI, Lomow had a RBI and a run, and Conrad was 1-3 with a run scored.

Regional 8: Champ – Jasper

Mt. Vernon 4 North Harrison 0 – Two runs in the fourth broke a 0-0 tie and were more than enough for Mt. Vernon starter Brian Hensley. Hensley threw a great game going all seven innings allowing just two hits, no walks, and struck out nine. Walker Paris went 2-3 with a RBI, JD Collins was 1-2 with a RBI and a run, Brandon Merick was 2-2, Hensley went 1-3 with a run, and Cody Mobley was 1-2 with a run scored.

Jasper 14 South Dearborn 1

Jasper 6 Mt Vernon 2 – Jasper scored five runs in the bottom of the second to take the lead for good. Craig Shepherd went 1-4 with a RBI, Ben Moore had a RBI and a run, Evan Aders was 1-2 with two runs, and Haskins was 1-3 with a run scored. Cal Krueger got the win throwing five innings allowing one earned runs, five hits, and struck out nine.

Regional 9: Champ – Lafayette Central Catholic

Lafayette CC 10 Bremen 0 – LCC scored four runs in the bottom of the first and didn’t look back, scoring in four of five innings. Dylan Kiracofe threw all five innings allowing just three hits and struck out four. Kiracofe went 3-3 with a double, triple, and two runs, Ben Tharp was 1-3 with three RBI and a run, Coy Cronk went 2-4 with two doubles and two RBI, Anthony Beruman was 1-2 with two RBI, and Jackson Anthrop had two RBI and a run scored.

Churubusco 6 Boone Grove 1 – Josh Howk picked up his first of four hits to lead off the game, hitting a solo homerun. Drew Buffenbarger hit a RBI double later in the first to give Churubusco a 2-0 lead after the first. Howk hit his second homerun of the game to lead off the third inning, pushing the lead to 3-0. Three runs was enough for Devin Peters, Peter threw a complete game allowing three hits, one unearned run, and struck out seven. Howk finished the game going 4-4 with four runs and the two solo homeruns, Jacob Howe was 1-4 with two runs, and Devin Peters went 1-2 with a RBI.

Lafayette CC 12 Churubusco 2 – LCC put up three runs in the top of the first and scored in each of the next three innings. Nate Wiercioch got the win throwing 5.2 innings allowing one earned run and struck out seven. Jackson Anthrop went 2-3 with two RBI and two runs, Coy Cronk was 2-5 with a double and two RBI, Luke Schrader was 2-3 with two runs, Ben Tharp was 1-4 with two RBI and a run, and Adam Lovell was 2-5 with two runs.

 

Regional 10: Champ – Cass

Cass 3 Lapel 2 F/8 – Austin Hanlon’s second hit of the day was a walk off RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth. Cass trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth a Brandon Carden sac fly and a Conner Zeck RBI singled tied the game. Hanlon was 2-4 with a RBI and a run and Jake Wilburn was 1-3 with a run scored. Josh Rankert threw a complete game on the mound to get the win allowing two runs on six hits, striking out five.

Taylor 8 Seeger 5

Cass 5 Taylor 1 – Jake Wilburn gave up one run in the first but allowed just one hit over the final six innings in a complete game win. Wilburn allowed the one run, three hits, and struck out nine to help Cass to the Regional Title. With the game at 2-1 in the fifth Cass loaded the bases and a Noah Byers bases clearing hit pushed the advantage to 5-1, more than enough for Wilburn.

 

Regional 11: Champ – Knightstown

Cardinal Ritter 18 Heritage Christian 3 – Cardinal Ritter capped off a strong offensive performance with an eight run sixth inning. Quentin Yockey was 3-5 with a double, homerun, and three RBI, Alex Vela was 2-4 with three RBI and four runs, Blake Malatestinic was 2-3 with three RBI and three runs, Brian Bacon was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs, Tommy Waites tripled, drove in two, and scored twice, and Kyle Matter went 3-4. Matter threw five of the six innings to get the win allowing two runs on four hits, striking out three.

Knightstown 11 Speedway 0 – Jake Kwisz got the win throwing all six innings allowing just two hits and striking out eight in the win. Knightstown scored in four of their six innings, combining for 11 hits. Spencer Mattix led the way going 3-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs. Kaleb Kinnaman was 2-3 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs, Drake Peggs was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs, Jake Bearhope was 1-3 with two RBI, Isaac McRoberts was 1-2 with a double, RBI, and three runs, Kwisz was 1-3 with a RBI and a run, and Tyler Richardson had a RBI.

Knightstown 7 Cardinal Ritter 0 – Knightstown broke open a close game with a five run fourth inning to take a commanding 6-0 lead. Burton and Kinnaman each had RBI singles, Drake Peggs had a RBI triple, and Tyler Richardson capped off the inning with a two run homerun. Richardson went 3-4 with a double, homerun, two RBI, and two runs, Drake Peggs was 2-4 with a triple, solo homerun, two RBI, and two runs, Kinnaman was 2-4 with a RBI and a run, Burton was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, and Mattix was 1-4 with a RBI. Richardson threw a complete game to get the win allowing six hits and struck out six to get the win.

 

Regional 12: Champ – South Spencer

Clarksville 2 Sullivan 1 – Justin Lind scored on an error in the third to give Clarksville a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Sullivan would tie the game with a sac fly in the bottom of the fifth, but Clarksville responded in the top of the sixth with a run of their own. Wyatt Kissel’s second hit of the game brought in Lind for the second time to give Clarksville the lead. Kissel got the win on the mound throwing a complete game allowing just one hit, an unearned run, and struck out seven.

South Spencer 9 Milan 3 – South Spencer jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead after two innings. Tyler Schnider and Jon Michael Stallings hit back to back RBI doubles in the first to get the scoring started. In the second Taylor Market had a two run doubled, Schneider hit a sac fly, and Stallings had a RBI single. Schneider was 2-3 with three RBI and a run, Market was 2-4 with three RBI and two run, Stallings was 2-4 with two RBI, Kobe Stephens was 1-3 with a double and two runs, and Zeth Young and Caleb Helms each scored twice. Stallings got the win throwing five innings allowing seven hits, no earned run, and struck out eight. Schneider threw two shutout innings to close out the game, striking out two.

South Spencer 10 Clarksville 0 – South Spencer needed only five innings to claim the regional crown. Jesse Stallings threw a five inning no hitter in the win allowing just one walk and struck out nine. Sammy Rowan was 2-3 with two doubles and two runs, Kobe Stephens was 2-3 with two RBI and a run, Taylor Market was 1-3 with two RBI, Stallings was 2-3 with a triple and two RBI, Caleb Helms was 2-2 with a RBI and two runs, and Zeth Young went 1-3 with a RBI and a run.

Regional 13: Champ – Washington Township

Washington Township 7 North White 3 – Washington Township opened up a close 3-0 game with a four run top of the sixth. Chase Peiffer threw five strong innings to get the win allowing just one hit, no runs, and struck out seven. Troy Kwiatkowski led the offense going 2-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and a run. Lucas Nelson was 1-1 with a RBI, Jordan Williams doubled and scored, Peiffer was 1-3 with a RBI, and Evan Muha went 1-4 with a RBI.

FW Blackhawk 14 Triton 0 – FW Blackhawk jumped out to an early four run lead on their way to a five inning win. Nathan Targgart had a big game at the plate going 3-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Bailey Sheldon was 2-4 with a double, three RBI, and two runs, Spencer Lee was 2-2 with two RBI and a run, Kyle Bleed went 2-4 with a double, three RBI, and a run, and Nathan Moonen was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs. Riley Reimchisel got the win throwing three shutout innings allowing two hits and striking out two. Bleed threw the final two innings allowing one hit and striking out two.

Washington Township 4 FW Blackhawk 2 – Washington scored three in the top of the first. Three runs was enough for Troy Kwiatkowski, who got the win on the mound throwing a complete game allowing two runs on four hits, striking out nine. Brock Pappas was 1-3 with a RBI, Chase Peiffer was 1-4 with a RBI and a run, Kwiatkowski was 1-4 with a run, and Jordan Williams and Alex Lawson each scored a run.

 

Regional 14: Champ – Rockville

Rockville 10 Blue River Valley 0 – Rockville jumped on the board early and didn’t look back, scoring in four of five innings. Dalton Laney threw all five innings to get the win allowing just three hits and striking out nine. Laney went 3-4 with three RBI, Rapp was 1-2 with a RBI and a run, Cunningham went 1-1 with four runs, Kyle Paddock was 3-3 with two runs, Kaleb Huxford was 2-2 with a RBI, and Monroe doubled and scored.

Daleville 6 Carroll 1

Rockville 9 Daleville 2 – Kaleb Huxford got the win on the mound throwing a complete game allowing two runs on six hits, striking out 14.

 

Regional 15: Champ – Shakamak

Shakamak 6 Rising Sun 0 – A four run second inning was more than enough for Shakamak starter Braden Scott. Scott was dominant on the mound throwing a two hit, complete game shutout allowing one walk and striking out 10. Dylan Collins was 1-3 with a RBI, Logan Kinnett was 1-2 with two runs, Parker Green was 1-3 with a run, Zach Moonen scored twice, and Michael Huddleston was 2-3.

Greenwood Christian 2 Lutheran 1

Shakamak 6 Greenwood Christian 0 – Braxton Yeryar had a dominant performance on the mound in the complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and struck out 12. Tanner Yeryar got the offense started with a RBI single in the second inning and would add another RBI single in the four to push the lead to 2-0. Dylan Scott provided some more insurance in the sixth with a two run single. Dylan Collins was 1-3 with a RBI and a run, Scott was 2-3 with two RBI, Braxton Yeryar was 1-2 with a run, Parker Green was 2-3 with a run, and Jake Walters was 1-3 with two runs.

 

Regional 16: Champ – Orleans

Borden 4 Tecumseh 2 – Two runs in the top of the first and two more in the third gave Borden the lead for good. Kyle Kruer went all seven innings to get the win allowing one earned run, five hits, no walks, and struck out nine. Brandon Thompson was 2-3 with two RBI, Caleb Hart was 2-4 with a run, Dawson Nale doubled and drove in a run, Noah Hart was 1-2 with a run scored, and Travis Konerman was 1-3 with a RBI.

Orleans 7 North Daviess 2 – North Daviess got on the board first with a two run top of the third, but Orleans responded with four in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Cale Hall had a RBI single to get Orleans started, Steven Phillips followed with a RBI double, and then Jason Mosson gave Orleans the lead with a two run double. Mosson got the win on the mound throwing 6.1 innings allowing four hits, no earned runs, and struck out eight. Chase Hall closed out the game getting the final two outs. Cale Hall finished the day 2-4 with two RBI and a run, Chase Hall had a triple and scored, Duncan Gerkin was 1-3 with a RBI and a run, Dylan Clem doubled and scored, and Kamen Ray was 1-1 with a RBI.

Orleans 2 Borden 0 – Chase Hall threw a great game on the mound allowing just one hit and striking out three in a complete game shutout. Hall got all the offense he needed in the first inning when Jason Mosson hit a RBI single to score Steven Phillips. Hall would help himself out in the second with a RBI single that brought in Dylan Clem.
