Why did you choose Michigan State?
Brian: There were a lot of factors that went into contributing to my decision. The biggest would probably be that they really made me feel welcomed and wanted from the very beginning. Coach Boss and Coach Skylar did a great job and seemed very genuine in their talks when discussing me being not only a part of the Spartan baseball team but the MSU family altogether.

What other schools were you considering?
Brian: As long as I can remember, I’ve always imagined myself somewhere South in a warm weather State. But really, I was keeping my options open for everything; whatever I felt was going to be the best opportunity.

Where did Michigan State first see you play?
Brian: Coach Skylar seen me pitch during my 14U season, summer of 2014.

What kind of relationship did you have with Coach Boss and the rest of the coaching staff during the recruiting process?
Brian: I’d say we had a pretty strong relationship. Coach Skylar and I talked often over the phone and I went on a few visits to MSU where I was able to connect with all of the coaching staff.

Michigan State is off to a hot start this year, how excited are you to be a part of a program that is getting so much national recognition?
Brian: I’ve been following them closely and they are really tearing it up! It really gets me fired up, I can’t wait to put on the Spartan green and white and hopefully contribute to a Championship run!

Where do you and the coaching staff see yourself fitting in once you step on campus?
Brian: Primarily we see me on the mound. However, they are giving me the opportunity to get in the lineup, I love to hit! I just hope I can make the best of it and show them I am an all-around great athlete.

Who do you play for in the summer and what are some of your favorite memories so far with summer ball experience?
Brian: I play for 5 Tool Elite during the summer. Some of my favorite memories would be playing in Memphis for the National Youth Championship, along with the team bonding moments on and off the field. You build relationships that last a lifetime.

Do you play any other sports?
Brian: I bowl during the winter, but I’m always playing some kind of sport, I play a lot of ping-pong, volleyball and pick-up basketball which is always a blast.

What is your favorite baseball memory?
Brian: There are so many moments, it’s hard to choose, but nothing can beat the feeling I had after my perfect game!
