Jordan Jachens, LHP/1B, Midland HS, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose Delta?

Jachens: I wanted to go somewhere that would win and give me the best chance to keep playing at a good four year school. Delta definitely fits that criteria.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Jachens: I had been offered by Calvin and I had a few other schools come out to watch me, but I really didn't get that many looks because I didn't play much my Junior year. I wasn't even considering college ball until I came around my Senior year.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?

Jachens: The coach came to see me play in a doubleheader vrs. Bullock Creek at Dow Diamond.

PBR: What is your most memorable moment?

Jachens: My last game at Midland High's field. I went 4-4 with a game tying triple in the bottom of the 7th.

PBR:  What team do you play for in the summer?

Jachens: The last two summers I played with Mickey's Sleds and More. This year I decided to play for Sanford American Legion.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Jachens: Considering I really didn't play much my Junior year I wasn't expecting to be playing college ball. It was definitely a good surprise.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season?

Jachens: .403 Average, 44 hits, 12 extra base hits, 3 strikeouts in 109 at bats

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced?

Jachens: Mason Erla by far. I had played with him the last two years and he was always lights out. Then this year we were on opposing teams and his stuff was better then any I've seen.
