I saw Lafayette play very early in the season, a 6-2 loss in a game I’m sure they would readily admit wasn’t their best. That game, however, certainly wasn’t indicative of how the season would shake out for the Generals. At 18-3, Lafayette has lost just twice since that March 21 game, a loss to Mosley (FL) and a loss to the No. 1 ranked team in Kentucky, McCracken County.

Last week, Lafayette went undefeated with a 4-0 record. The week began with a 6-4 win over district rival Dunbar on Tuesday and continued with an impressive 7-0 district win over Lexington Catholic on Thursday. On Friday, the Generals traveled to Louisville for the Louisville Invitational Tournament and came away with a 6-4 win over Eastern and a 4-0 decision over Christian County before the rains came on Saturday.

For their performance on the field, the Lafayette Generals have been selected as this week’s PBR Kentucky Team of the Week.
