Late Rally Leads Terre Haute North over McCutcheon

Lafayette, IN – A late rally helped Terre Haute North grab a victory at McCutcheon. McCutcheon jumped on the board first getting three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With one out Logan Sowers (2014) doubled into the gap and Jesse Quantilla followed that up with an RBI singled. After an out and a walk McCutcheon plated two more runs after Myles Hann (2010) hit a ball deep that the left fielder was unable to hold onto, allowing two runners to cross the plate.

North responded with two runs in the top of the fifth after back to back RBI singles from Tony Rosselli (2012, Indiana State commit) and Sam Wolf (2011) cutting the deficit to 3-2. McCutcheon would get the runs back in the bottom of the frame when a passed ball allowed Justin Curry (2013), who doubled to lead off the inning, to score. Three batters later Sowers singled in Cody Strong (2012, Purdue commit) to put McCutcheon up 5-2.

North would follow that up with a big inning bringing across four runs in the top of the 6th. Hank Gray (2013) led things off with a walk, after a strikeout, Nickohli Kimmel (2012) singled and Scottie Finzel (2012) reached on an error to load the bases. Zach Milam (2013) would immediately clear the bases with a double that plate all three runs tying the game at five. With two out McCutcheon looked like they may survive the inning and get out with a tie score, but Wolf singled in Milam to give North the lead 6-5.

Jordan Young (2014) got the start for McCutcheon and sat 80-82 during his 4.1 innings pitched.
