PBR Maryland held the 2023 MD Unsigned Senior Games at Joe Cannon Stadium on August 8th. Players were put through a pro-style workout that included BP on the field, defense and a 60-yard dash. Following the workout, players participated in a simulated game that included live AB's. Players also received industry leading data provided by TrackMan, Blast Motion, Vizual Edge and Swift Performance during the event.

Throughout the next week or so, our staff will highlight key performers at the event.

Noah Burroughs RHP / OF / Sussex Central (DE), MD / 2024

With no argument, Burroughs simply had the biggest and most eye-opening day of all participants at this year's MD Unsigned Senior Games. The day began with BP on the field, where myself and a number of college coaches were on hand to see the physical two-way consistently launch balls to the pull side at an average exit velocity of 95.8 mph and a max exit velocity of 110.8 mph per TrackMan, including one batted ball at 418 feet deep over the left-center field wall. It's an aggressive operation with a quick, explosive barrel; up to 87.4 max bat speed and an average of 82.8 per Blast Motion. Utilizing a slight uphill path, the ability to create consistent lift with carry to the middle is impressive, coupled with a high contact rate in live-ab's makes for this to be a can't miss bat. In game, Burroughs notched two hits; one a two-strike, loud double down the left field line and another a single up the middle.

After one of the more eye-opening offensive showings we saw this summer, it's crazy to think that Burroughs stock could rise even higher; however just that it did when the physical 6-foot, 195 pound righty jumped on the bump and made quick work of the hitters he faced. It's an easy, repeatable operation that features a four pitch mix that can be thrown in any count for strikes. The fastball sat in the mid to upper 80's, grabbing an 89 with ease and plenty more in the tank. A curveball/slider mix plays well off each other, showcasing more of a bigger, gradual shape to the 11/5 curveball and tight, shorter shape to the slider. A developing changeup is also featured and looks to have the makeup to become at least average at the next level. Legit two-way ability that will make a program very happy as a late add on.
