The Summer months are always a "hotbed" for college coaches to get out on the road and identify talent. Below we have highlighted five key players in the Old Line State that should make a ton of noise this Summer, coming off of huge Spring season for their respective high schools.

Andrew Kerns RHP / SS / St. Maria Goretti, MD / 2024

Kerns, a former PBR Future Games alum broke onto the scene this Spring and opened a ton of eyes; running the fastball into the low 90's with a tight slider for strikes. Possessing a physical 6-foot-4, 190 pound frame, the imposing right hander works with plenty of intent and moxie, making for a very interesting '23 Summer.

Angel Santiago-Cruz SS / RHP / Severna Park, MD / 2024

If you're looking for a high academic two-way that can impact the game in the blink of an eye, Santiago-Cruz is your guy. Another PBR Future Games alum, Santiago-Cruz had a stellar Spring for Severna Park on both sides of the ball and looks to fit the mold of a middle of the order bat with some starter profile on the bump. There's plenty of projection left in the athletic 6-foot-2, 200 LB frame that exudes physicality.

Logan Hastings RHP / SS / Huntingtown, MD / 2024

Spin wins on the bump, and Hastings can spin it with the best of them across the Old Line State. The wiry 5-foot-10, 170 pound righty attacks hitters with intent and possesses a true three pitch mix that work for strikes. The upper 80's fastball has above average spin (~2400 rpm) that consistently misses barrels at the top of the zone and plays extremely well off a tight 11/5 breaking ball up into the 2900's rpm. Yet another high academic player that should be highly sought after.

Joey Nicholson OF / RHP / Middletown , MD / 2024

One of the more physically gifted positional players in the class, the 6-foot, 210 pound outfielder possesses metrics that jump off the board. Plus run tool (6.68), advanced arm strength (92 OF Velo), and power to all fields (96.3 Max Exit Velo) make for an intriguing uncommitted outfielder looking for a home.

Sean Williams RHP / OF / Severna Park , MD / 2024

Another uncommitted arm that really jumped on the scene this Spring was Williams; a physical 6-foot-2, 200 pound righty out of Severna Park that ran the fastball up to 90 mph. It's a clean arm that can spin for strikes and work a late fading changeup down in the zone for swing and miss.
