MD/DE Class of 2026 Rankings: Risers

It is officially rankings week again, and our staff continues the updates with a look at our MD/DE Class of 2026. As we expand to the Top 75 players, we see a plethora that climb the ranks after a long and grueling summer circuit. We continue the week by taking a look at a few players who are certainly trending up and rise in this new update, leading to our release of the Top 25 on Wednesday and Top 75 on Thursday.

Michael Goldsmith C / 3B / St. Maria Goretti, MD / 2026After a strong summer circuit with US Elite, the strong backstop had yet another stellar showing at the US Elite PBR Scout Day in late August. The swing has increasingly gotten cleaner, showcasing consistent strength to the pull side with plenty of flashes of serious power potential in the near future. Quiet confidence with rhythm and some quick twitch in the hands allows for a high contact rate. The actions behind the plate are developing and although it's still early, I see Goldsmith staying behind the dish at the next level.

Kaleb Kennedy 3B / RHP / Elkton, MD / 2026A player that I seem to always circle during the summer is Kaleb Kennedy. The size, standing at a strong 6-foot-1, 190 pounds is certainly projectable and the metrics jump off the page; 95.5 mph max exit velocity, 86 mph across the diamond and can run the fastball into the mid 80's. A powerful swing that looks to do damage showcases consistent strength to the pull side. The actions are raw on both sides, and with the frame still maturing makes for Kennedy to be a can't miss player to watch in this class for years to come.

Tre McInnes C / RHP / Patterson Mill, MD / 2026One of the more exciting two-ways in the class, the 5-foot-11, 180 pound Patterson Mill product continues to expand his game and showcase exciting actions on both sides of the ball. I really like the actions on the bump, showcasing feel for a strong fastball/curveball mix. The fastball continues to tick up, now consistently in the low 80's with feel to both sides of the plate, mixing a bigger 11/5 curveball with tight shape. It's a line drive approach at the dish, utilizing the proportionally strong body to produce loud contact to all fields. Look for a steady rise through the rankings as his high school career progresses.

Matt Strahan 2B / OF / Magruder, MD / 2026Circle this name, as you will hear it and see it skyrocket up any 2026 list across the state. Still undersized, the actions certainly outweigh the frame and once strength is really added, this will be a marquee player in this class. Present and explosive bat speed, the approach is to the middle with awareness for the barrel and the ability to backspin line drives to the gaps. A high contact, top of the order bat with average to above average speed.
