By Mike Penn
Michigan Director of Scouting

High school regional action heats up tomorrow with a trip to the state quarter-finals on the line.  We have analyzed every regional in the state and offer to you our picks and predictions.

Visit the Michigan High School Athletic Association's website here to view complete interactive brackets.

Let's start with the smallest division first.  The Division IV picks are in. Division III you are on the clock.

Regional 28

Teams:
Gobles vs Muskegon Catholic Central
Pentwater vs Beal City

We have always liked the Tigers.  Gobles with Seth Johnson, Tucker Rigney, Cam Hansen, and Ty Rock the Tigers are one of our favorites to win it all.

Our Pick: Gobles

Regional 29

Teams:
Mendon vs New Buffalo
Kalamazoo Christian vs Decatur

TJ Stambek, Joby Kawaski, TJ Cerven and the rest of the Decatur crew should ride through this regional and make a run at back to back titles.

Our Pick: Decatur

Regional 25

Teams:
Atlanta vs Onaway
Norway vs Rudyard

We don’t know much about these four teams but Atlanta comes in with the best record, so we will play it safe and go with the 21-2 team.

Our Pick: Atlanta

Regional 26

Teams:
Marion vs Frankfort
Mancelona vs Maple City Glen Lake

Mancelona went to Battle Creek last season and they are 17-5 this year.  We are sticking with them as the favorite.

Our Pick: Mancelona

Regional 27

Teams:
Brown City vs. Harbor Beach
Portland St. Partick vs Potterville

We like the DeBeau brothers, Hunter (2014) and Dustin (2013), from Merrill.  If you don’t know who they are, you should.

Our Pick: Merrill

Regional 30

Teams:
Ottawa Lake Whiteford vs Sand Creek
Concord vs Camden Frontier

Concord has won three straight district titles.  Expect them to get to the quarters this year.  Jesse Brigham, Zak Thompson, and Tyler Burch may be the difference for Concord in this regional.

Our Pick: Concord

Regional 31

Teams:
Waterford Our Lady of Lakes vs New Lothrop
Portland St. Patrick vs Potterville

Waterford our Lady of Lakes is a 20-win club. Steven Scott, Colt Moran, Spencer Howell, Mitchell Lasceski make a dangerous combination for Waterford Our Lady of Lakes.

Our Pick: Waterford Our Lady of Lakes

Regional 32

Teams:
Univ. Liggett vs. Royal Oak Shrine
Plymouth Christian vs. Allen Park Inter-City

University Liggett perennially has one of the best programs in the state.  This year is no different. With senior right-hander and Oakland commit, Connor Fannon, on the mound they will be tough to beat.  Plus, we like their offense.

Our Pick: Univ. Liggett
