Zane Catoe 2B / SS / Lugoff-Elgin, SC / 2022

5-foot-8, 160-pound strong/athletic frame, limited projection remains. The right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 80 mph. Began in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a higher leg kick to initiate his swing. Displays quick bat speed, a slightly uphill plane and extension on his finish. Consistently barreled balls with occasional loud contact throughout his round. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 75 mph; has natural twitchy hands, a quick exchange and athletic footwork. Fields the ball out front while his movements laterally were athletic. Used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot.

 

 

 

Ty Hedges RHP / 3B / Summerville, SC / 2022

6-foot-1, 205-pound solid frame with broad shoulders and strength throughout. The right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 79 mph. Started in a slightly open stance with a substantial hand load and slight arm bar, with a smaller stride. Ends his swing with high two hand finish. Muscled the barrel through the zone. Solid bat to ball skills. In the infield, recorded a position velocity of 77 mph; has consistent hands. Shows out front glovework. Had a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. On the mound, he used a long arm actionwith a ¾ angle. Has even shoulders with a tall balance point off the mound. Changeup (66-66 mph) worked best in combination with his fastball. Produced a fastball that came in at71-72 mph and topped out at 73 mph; showed sinking action and low in the zone control.Threw his 2/8 curveball (61-62) with consistent control.

 

 

 

Jonah McCary SS / RHP / Saluda, SC / 2023

5-foot-8, 138-pound compact lean frame. The right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 80 mph. Has an athletic stance, slightly open with the weight stacked inside the feet. Quick tempo in the load with a short stride with medium length. Flat swing plane and level finish. Base hit approach. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 76 mph; had twitchy hands, a quick exchange and solid avg. footwork. Movements laterally were athletic with good range. Showed a ¾ slot and a quick arm action on accurate throws. 

 

 

 

Jadiyn ONeal 1B / RHP / Lugoff-Elgin , SC / 2023

5-foot-11, 209-pound solid frame with broad shoulders and strong lower half. The right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Begins in a closed stance with a big load, then uses a toe tap stride. Has an uphill swing plane and avg. bat speed. In the infield, recorded a position velocity of 65 mph; had a clean exchange and sure hands. In the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 75mph. Throws from a ¾ slot.On the mound, produced a fastball that came in at 68-70 mphand topped out at 72 mph. Showed the most control on his curveball (64-64 mph) when hestayed on top.

 

 

 

Gage Rinehart 1B / RHP / Saluda , SC / 2023

6-foot-1, 265-pound large sturdy frame. The right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Starts in an open stance, has a slight wrapping load and uses a toe tap to initiate his swing. Longer hand path, muscles the barrel through the zone. Displayed an uphill swing plane and high finish. In the infield, showed an ability to throw across the field at 67 mph; has soft hands. Had a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Body gets out of control at times, but will have a chance to improve as he matures. 

 

 

 

Matt Sheaffer 1B / C / Saluda , SC / 2023

6-foot, 225-pound sturdy frame with broad shoulders. The left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 78 mph. Sets up in an open stance then used a small leg kick. Shows a level swing plane and high finish. Good rotation in the hips and the hands work with avg. quickness. Line drive approach may develop into more of a power approach as he matures. Behind the plate, produced pop times of 2.43-2.48. His best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 61 mph; displayed sure hands. Some accuracy to the base and a high ¾ slot. Big body for a catcher, some bend in the hips. Avg. catch/throw ability present.

 

 

 

Drayton Summers SS / RHP / Batesburg-Leesville, SC / 2022

5-foot-7, 160-pound medium frame proportional build. The right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in a balanced open stance with a wrapping load and slight arm bar. Short stride lands closed, limited rotation through the hips. Ended his swing with high finish. Found some barrels. Line drive approach. In the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 68 mph; had a quick exchange, avg. hands and smooth footwork. Had a ¾ slot with loose arm action. On the mound, he had a long arm action with a L3Q arm slot. Linear type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has an athletic balance point with falling off shoulders. Lands square. His fastball sat 66-67mph with a max of 68 mph; had around the zone accuracy. He has some action on his changeup(56-58).
