Mississippi Class of 2026 Rankings: Official Release

PBR Mississippi Staff

After a busy summer full of events in the Magnolia State, the Class of 2026 Player Rankings is long overdue for an update as these players have just started their sophomore year of their high school careers. There were a ton of new names who entered into the fold, as well as a number of others who continue to elevate their game, warranting plenty of movement to the list. Most of the same names are still inside the Top-10 from the last update, but there's some shakeup as we have expanded the list to 60 players.

Jackson Prep’s Kevin Roberts Jr. tops our Class of 2026 player rankings as he continues to develop into a future power arm with velocity reaching 92.8 mph this summer during the NPI at Lakepoint. Roberts catches eyes on the mound though his ability as a two way prospect is evident with his ever increasing bat speed and lean, athletic frame.

After a solid freshman year at Oak Grove and a spectacular Future Games workout Eric “EJ” Booth moves up to #2 in the 2026 class. The sophomore ran a 6.46 which ranked 4th overall (tops among 2026 players that attended) and showed off his developing power potential with mid 90’s exit velocities.

Coming in at #3 is infielder Ole Miss commit Cole Prosek of Magnolia Heights. Prosek already has a very polished look both defensively and at the plate. Although the former Junior Future Games participants upside looks to be as a position player Prosek was very valuable on the mound (fastball up to 88 mph) this year for Chiefs as they captured yet another MAIS 5A State Championship.

#4 Logan Buckley of Columbia Academy is yet another dual prospect in the class with upside on the mound as a left handed arm, along with solid potential as a middle of the order bat at the next level. On the mound Buckley regularly works into the upper 80’s with his fastball.

Another former Junior Future Games participant Jack Poole of Madison Ridgeland Academy rounds out the Top 5 as the outfielder looks prime to make his mark this season with the Patriots. Poole could provide a huge spark to the offense with his sweet left handed stroke and developing power. He can also give them quality innings on the mound though his future looks to be roaming the outfield at the next level.
