PBR: Why did you choose SDSU?

I chose SDSU because they had a really fun environment, had very nice facilities I could use when I’m there, and had an overall bigger campus which is something I was looking for.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

I was also considering Valparaiso, Xavier, Augustana (SD), and Lafayette.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

The one thing about SDSU that made me choose them over the rest is their baseball philosophy. They believe in developing guys into better baseball players as much as they can by using their modernized indoor facilities to do so.

PBR: How did your relationship develop with them?

Their coaching staff first saw me at their January camp and since then kept good contact with me. They saw me again late August and after that camp they invited me on an unofficial visit where they offered me.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

I believe there’s a multitude of people who have helped me get where I am today, but I would say that the people who helped me the most was Scott Stahlecker and the Nebraska Prospects organization. He helped me find ways to continue to develop throughout the duration of the summer I played tournaments with him and his team. In addition, he helped me make sure I was prepared for what college coaches would ask when I talked with them. In addition, Coach Doggett, my coach from Prospects in the fall, was teammates with Coach Mormann, SDSU pitching coach, when they were in college together. He also helped me get recruited by SDSU by sending my stats to him and talking to him about my success in the fall.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

The SDSU coaching staff sees me coming in as right in the mix with the other pitchers as a reliever, but said I could become a starter if I have a good first year and develop a lot.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

The most memorable moment in my baseball career is probably winning the state tournament, but I hope for many more unforgettable baseball memories in college.

PBR: Who is the best player you have competed against?

Over the summer I had the opportunity to go down south and face some good opponents. There was some good commits going to some big name baseball programs such as Arkansas, North Carolina, and Florida State. It’s hard to say. If I had to choose it probably would be a Central Florida commit. He seem to be able to hit at type of pitch in any part of the zone and it was hit solid. It taught me a lot as a pitcher and I believe it has helped me grow and develop to be able to play D1 baseball.
