New Blog Discusses the Benefits of Fall Baseball

By Greg Williams - Director of Pennsylvania Scouting

I spent about 10 years of my life in my 20's and 30's working in the Houston Astros organization and coaching high school baseball in central Florida. There really was no off-season for high school players. We started high school practices officially in early January with our first games being played during the second week of February. High school season ran into our summer season which ran from late may through late July. By late August we moved into a fall season that would culminate in mid November.

If you compare the amount of baseball being played in a warm weather state with that being played in the northeast and midwest, there is no comparison. For that reason the fall becomes a time where the most serious northern players have an opportunity to make vast improvements and potentially be seen.

My most recent blog entry talks about fall baseball and what is going on with PBR Pennsylvania in the coming months. To read the entire entry CLICK HERE.
