New York HS Baseball Final Four, Let the Games Begin

The stakes couldn't be any higher for the final four teams in each Class of the Empire State. Any HS baseball player that has ever laced up his spikes, grabbed his trusty Easton sword, piled the sunflower seeds in the cheek, and painted the eye black on ready for war, has lived for this coming Saturday in late Mid June. The Baseball Gods will be out a plenty, along with crazed fans and the occasional college and pro scout. Fasten the seat belt tight boys, this is the New York State High School Baseball Finals, and the winner is....

The heavy weights, In Class AA, meet at the newly renovated turf stadium at Maine Endwell HS (5 miles from Binghamton, NY) to slug it out. Out of section 5, A strong Victor HS squad takes on West Islip, the boys from section 11 on Long Island at 10 am.  No. 1 in the State Shenendehowa are set to battle Ketcham at 1 pm. The championship matchup will be played following the 1 pm game.

In Class A, Bayport Blue Point out of Long Island strap it up against Pittsford Sutherland out of section 5 near Rochester NY. Averill Park out of section 2 will line them up against Rye out of the Lower Hudson Valley and section 1 at 1 pm. The championship game will be played following, all games are played at Union Endicott HS.

In Class B, Rye Neck out of section 1 squares up against section 5 Livonia at beautiful Binghamton University. Clinton HS from section 3 will then battle Schalmont out of section 2. The winners will head to the championship at 4 pm.

In Class C, Long Island Pierson Bridgehampton HS squares off with Bolivar Richburg out of scrappy section 5. Section 4 brings it's first represenative in Seton Catholic, who faces a nice Hoosic Valley squad out of section 2. Championship will be played at 4 pm at Conlon Field.

In Class D, Smithtown Christian out of section 11 with face section 5 Batavia Notre Dame at 10 am on the Broome CC field. Following that match-up will be section 4 rep, Hancock who battles section 10 Heuvelton HS. The championship will follow at 4 pm.


Most Represented: Section 5 - 5 teams
Least Represented: Section 3, 10 - 1 team each
