John Alvarez, OF, Solon, 2016

5-foot-8, 145-pound frame with room to fill. From the outfield he uses a clean, long arm action coming from a ¾ slot producing a top velocity of 72 mph. He does a good job playing through the baseball but could benefit from improving his crow hop for additional carry to his throws. The right-handed hitter starts with a balanced set up with a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Shows the ability to use both sides of the field, contact type hitter. Ran a 4.54 to first base.

Evan Baschko, 1B/RHP, Brecksville, 2015

6-foot-4, 275-pound big body frame. Defensively, he moves well around the bag with his big body frame. He threw his top velocity at 77 mph. Right-handed hitter starts with a tall, balanced set up, using a good hands back to shoulder trigger. Shows strength in swing and power that could be aided even further by incorporating his lower half more consistently. Ran a 5.8 down the line to first base. On the mound he begins with slow paced windup. Uses a short arm action with just below average arm speed coming from a ¾ slot. His fastball was 77-80 mph. He also threw a curveball at 62 mph with slurvy type action.

Dimitri Bergados, 2B/3B, St. Francis DeSales, 2017

5-foot-10, 180-pound medium body frame. Infielder, uses a short arm action showing the ability to throw from different arm angles reaching a top velocity of 73 mph. He stops his feet as the ball gets to him, so being more aggressive playing through the baseball will help improve his footwork. Offensively, he starts with his weight more towards his back leg, he uses a hands back trigger that gets to an arm bar. He has a small leg kick for power. He did show power by squaring a ball up, putting it over the left field fence during his BP session. He ran a 4.76 down to first base.

Payton Booth, RHP/3B, Heath, 2016

6-foot-1, 205-pound stronger build. From third base he throws from a ¾ arm showing some arm strength throwing it across the diamond at 79 mph. Can improve footwork by being more aggressive playing through the baseball. Right-handed hitter starts with a wide, balanced set up. Uses a short hands back trigger. His swing tends to be hard, and can improve his overall balanced throughout his swing mechanics from start to finish. Ran a 5.18 down to first base from home. On the mound he has a short arm action using a quicker arm speed coming from a ¾ slot. His fastball showed some sinking movement at times at 79-83 mph. His curveball showed sharpness to it at 69-72 mph at an 11/5 plane.

Joseph Brode, SS/RHP, Hoban, 2017

5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic body frame. Infielder comes from a ¾ slot with a tendency to wind up on his throws, would like to see a quicker release from him. Reached a top velocity of 78 mph. He stops his feet before the ball gets to him so his footwork can benefit from being more aggressive playing through the baseball. Left-handed hitter starts with his weight slightly more towards his back leg, his hands drop during his trigger which tends to make his swing get a little long at times. He showed the ability to use both parts of the field with some pull power. He ran a 4.44 down to first base. On the mound, He comes from a ¾ slot with average armspeed that requires regular effort. His fastball showed tailing movement at times clocked at 80-82 mph. He threw his curveball at 65-68 mph having a tendency to slow his arm down at times producing slurvy type action, the pitch shows increased sharpness when he throws it with more velocity. He also has a knuckle curve that broke downward with some bite to it at 76 mph. He flashed a straight changeup at 67-68 mph.

Jordan Burns, C/1B, Archbishop Hoban, 2015

6-foot-2, 200-pound solid, physical body frame. Can play at two positions, from first-base he moves well around the bag showing some athleticism, with good footwork. From the crouch he has the right idea but does require a little effort from the position, he did have good accuracy on his throws to second. Showed some arm strength reaching pop times between 2.07-2.13 at a top velocity of 77 mph. Right-handed hitter starts with an open stance getting back to even, using a leg kick for power. Stride can get a little long at times shows the ability to use both sides of the field. Showed a little pop in his bat. He ran a solid 4.29 down to first base, which is good for both of the positions he plays.

Mason Callahan, LHP/OF, Waynesville, 2017

5-foot-7, 155-pound thin build with room to fill. Left-handed pitcher comes from a ¾ slot using a shorter arm action with average armspeed. His fastball was clocked at 73-76 mph. Curveball had slurvy type movement at 64-67 mph. Also showed a straight changeup at fastball armspeed 68 mph.

Elijah Carter, 2B/OF, McKinley, 2015

5-foot-9, 150-pound athletic body frame with room to add for strength. From the outfield he uses a shorter arm action coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 73 mph. He can be more aggressive in his steps to ground balls playing through the baseball, and his throws can benefit from incorporating a crow hop to add carry. From the infield he has a tendency to play from his heels. He shows athleticism in his feet. He uses a short arm action with a quicker release coming from a ¾ slot and reached a top velocity of 68 mph. Switch hitter from the right side he starts with a balanced set up, showing some bat speed using a short and quick to the ball swing that displayed doubles type power. From the left side of the plate he starts with a balanced set up, using similar mechanics from the right side, swing does look a little stiffer from the left. He ran a 4.22 from home to first-base.

Steven Chalet, OF/RHP, Cuyahoga Valley, 2015

6-foot-1, 190-pound athletic body frame. From the outfield position he does a good job playing through the baseball. He does have some arm strength and his throws showed descent carry reaching a top velocity of 84 mph in which he could add to by incorporating a crow hop. Offensively he starts with a balanced set up, using a slight hands back trigger, swing does tend to get a little long at times. Shows doubles type power and ran a 4.62 from home to first base. On the mound he comes with a short arm action with average to just above average armspeed from a ¾ slot. His fastball was clocked at 78-81 mph. His curveball had some depth to it at an 11/5 plane at 68-71 mph.

Dalton Earich, 3B/SS, Manchester, 2017

6-foot-1, 170-pound thinner build with room to add strength. Infielder, has a tendency to wind up on his throws coming from a ¾ slot showing some descent arm strength and reached a top velocity of 72 mph. Shows good athletic feet to work with and played through the baseball for the most part. Right-handed hitter uses a leg kick for added power, and a short hands back trigger. Has a tendency to pop up before he swings. He ran a 4.70 down the line to first-base.

TJ Enos, RHP/1B, New Philadelphia, 2017

6-foot, 190-pound strong build. The right-handed pitcher comes from a lower ¾ slot using average arm speed. His fastball showed tailing movement at times clocked at 79-82 mph. His slider showed signs of being sharp at times 68-71 mph. He also threw a straight changeup using fastball armspeed at 70-72 mph.

Joshua Ferry, RHP/1B, Madison, 2017

6-foot-4, 210-pound athletic pitcher’s body frame. On the mound he comes from a ¾ slot using average arm speed. He stays kind of low throughout his windup, I would like to see him stay taller and uses his height to his advantage. His fastball was 75-77 mph. He threw his curveball with gradual 11/5 break consistently at 64 mph.

Carter Franklin, SS/RHP, Canton Central Catholic, 2016

5-foot-11, 155-pound thin body frame with room to fill. Infielder used a short arm action with a quicker release coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 72 mph. Showed athletic footwork, could also work as a second baseman. Offensively, he starts from a balanced set up, using a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. He has a nice quiet swing producing pretty good pop for his thin body size, also showing the ability to use both sides of the field. He ran a 4.63 to first.

Ben Grossheim, RHP/1B, Sycamore, 2017

5-foot-10, 180-pound average body frame. Shows descent feet around the bag defensively at first-base. He throws from a ¾ slot and reached a top velocity of 67 mph from the position. Right-handed hitter starts from a tall slightly open stance getting back to even, having a tendency to be a little late getting his foot down at times. Uses a fluid hands back trigger, contact type hitter. He ran a 5.08 down to first base. From the pitcher’s mound he uses a straight up and down leg kick. He uses average armspeed coming from a ¾ slot. His fastball was clocked at 73-74 mph. He threw his curveball at 64-65 mph that showed slurvy type break with some depth.

Trent Harrell, 1B/RHP, Chippewa Local, 2017

6-foot-3, 215-pound body frame. Right-handed pitcher throws from a ¾ slot using average armspeed, and average effort. His fastball showed some tailing movement at 76-79 mph. His curveball was at 66 mph with downward break. Slider was thrown a bit harder at 68-70 mph and was tighter than his curveball. He also threw a changeup at fastball armspeed showing sinking action at 68 mph.

Bailey Headrick, 2B/SS, Barberton, 2016

Smallish 5-foot-4, 130-pound build with lots of room to add strength to his frame. From the infield he shows athletic footwork that he can use to be more aggressive playing through the baseball with. He uses a short arm action coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 66 mph. Left-handed hitter starts from a balanced set up, using a leg kick for power. He uses a hands back to shoulder trigger, showing the ability to use both sides of the field. Contact type hitter who ran a 4.54 down to first base.

Nate Hiles, 1B, Waynesville, 2016

Big 6-foot-1, 225-pound first-baseman. Around the bag, he shows good footwork that can improve by increasing his foot speed. He reached a top velocity of 61 mph. Left-handed hitter starts with an open set up getting back to even, which I would like to see his foot get down just a bit sooner before contact. Shows the ability to use both sides of the field, and signs of pull power in his swing. He ran a 5.51 from home to first-base.

Austin Horan, SS/OF, Edison, 2015

6-foot, 165-pound athletic body frame. From the infield he throws from a low ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 77 mph. Shows athleticism with his feet to work with, with some softness in his hands. From the outfield position he does a good job staying aggressive through the baseball on ground balls, throws from a low ¾ slot as he does from the infield, would like to see him come from more over the top when he is in the outfield. He reached a top velocity of 80 mph, that can improve by incorporating a crow hop. Left-handed hitter begins from a tall set up with his weight slightly back more towards his back leg. He uses a hands back to shoulder trigger, he shoes descent pop in his bat for his thinner body frame, can incorporate more lower half finish to his swings. He ran a 4.40 down the line.

Jeffrey Hosey, C/3B, Niles McKinley, 2017

5-foot-9, 186-pound catcher. From the crouch he uses a short arm action coming from a high ¾ slot that produced a top velocity of 64 mph on his throws. He had pop times between 2.26-2.34 that can improve by increasing his foot speed. Offensively, he starts with an open set up and gets himself back to being square then using an inward turn as a timing mechanism. Uses a hands back trigger that gets close to being an arm bar. He ran a 5.19 down to first base from home.

Tylyn James, OF/LHP, Harrison, 2016

5-foot-8, 165-pound athletic body frame. Defensively, he has quick athletic footwork through the baseball, showing some carry to his throws that can improve by incorporating a crow hop reaching a top velocity of 85 mph. Left-handed hitter begins from a wide, balanced stance using a hands drop type trigger. Contact type hitter showing up the middle to pull type tendencies. He ran a 4.50 down the line.

Ryan Kahoun, OF/RHP, Perry, 2015

6-foot-3, 215-pound athletic body frame. Outfielder uses a shorter arm action coming from a ¾ slot producing a top velocity of 73 mph. He can be a little more aggressive coming at ground balls and playing through the baseball. Right-handed hitter starts with weight slightly more towards his back leg, uses a weight shift with his bottom half to produce power, shows quick hands and power as he hit a homerun over the left field fence during his rounds of BP. He ran a 4.50 down the line.

Kyle Kelly, OF, Akron Saint Vincent St. Mary, 2016

5-foot-10, 165-pound athletic body frame with room to fill. The outfielder takes more of a cautious approach to ground balls, he uses a shorter arm action coming from an upper ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 74 mph. Right-handed hitter begins from a balanced set up, using a hands back trigger getting close to an arm bar. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field. He ran a 4.51 from home to first-base.

Grant Kersh, C/3B, Archbishop Hoban, 2017

5-foot-9, 170-pound thinner, athletic body frame. From the catcher’s position his arm can get long at times coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 71 mph. Needs to sit down more and stay more compact on throws to second. His pop times were between 2.08-2.19. Offensively, he starts with a balanced set up. His hands tend to drop during his trigger. He is short to the ball contact type hitter. He ran a 4.34 from home to first base.

Michael Kirian, LHP/1B, New Riegel, 2017

Lanky, thinner 6-foot-5, 210-pound projectable body frame. Shows good athletic footwork around the bag at first-base, throws from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 72 mph from the position. Right-handed hitter starts with a slightly closed stance, using a toe tap back for his timing mechanism. Has a smooth hands back to shoulder trigger, shows the ability to use both sides of the field. He ran a 5.07 from home to first-base. On the mound is where his future will be at the next level. Lefty uses a shorter arm action with average armspeed coming from a ¾ slot. His delivery does not require much effort. His fastball showed natural tail consistently at 82-84 mph. His curveball showed gradual 1/7 break at 66-67 mph and projects to get even better. His changeup has similar action to his fastball with tail and some sink to it at 74 mph.

Hayden Knox, SS/2B, Hudson, 2017

5-foot-8, 150-pound athletic body frame. Infielder showed good athletic footwork playing through the baseball, he comes from a ¾ arm slot reaching a top velocity of 72 mph. Left-handed hitter start with a very open set up with one foot pretty much right behind the other getting back to being squared up, using a short and down to the ball type bat path. Hitter shows pull tendencies. He ran a 4.86 from home to first-base.

Ryan Lane, RHP/SS, New London, 2017

Thin 6-foot-2, 163-pound body frame with room to add strength. From the infield he shows athletic footwork that can improve by being more aggressive playing through the baseball. He uses a ¾ arm slot to produce a top velocity of 80 mph. Right-handed hitter begins from a balanced set up, using a short hands back trigger. His hands are short to the ball, contact type hitter that shows pull tendencies. He ran a 4.86 down the line. On the mound he uses a short arm action coming from his ear at a ¾ slot with quicker armspeed. His fastball was 79-82 mph. Has a tendency to manipulate curveball with his wrist that showed gradual 11/5 type break at 64-67 mph. He also flashed a straight changeup at 67 mph.

Alex Lemanski, SS/2B, Miamisburg, 2016

5-foot-9, 145-pound wiry type body frame. Infielder stops feet before he fields, which can benefit from being more aggressive playing through the baseball. He uses a short arm action coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 72 mph. Left-handed hitter begins from a balanced set up, using a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Has a small leg kick he uses for added power, showing the ability to use both parts of the field. Can add power by adding more strength to his frame. Ran a 4.51 down the line to first base.

Adam Lowe, SS/2B, Bishop Hartley, 2015

5-foot-11, 145-pound thin body frame with room to fill. Infielder shows good athletic footwork playing through the baseball. He comes from a ¾ slot showing descent arm strength reaching a top velocity of 80 mph. Offensively, he begins with weight slightly more towards his back leg, using a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Contact type hitter, uses a leg kick for added power. Shows the ability to use both sides of the field. He ran a 4.50 from home to first-base.

Michael Mathieu, OF/LHP, Jackson, 2016

Thin 5-foot-8, 155-pound frame with room to fill. Outfielder, stops feet before he fields ground ball, needs to be more aggressive playing through the baseball. He uses a good crow hop on his throws coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 77 mph. Left-handed hitter begins with a tall, balanced set up using a longer stride. Hands drop during trigger but makes up for it with quick hands, with good pop for his thin body frame size. Uses both fields well. Ran a 4.75 from home to first.

Andrew Mayor, 2B/RHP, University School, 2017

5-foot-11, 148-pound thin body frame with lots of room to fill. Infielder stops feet before ground ball gets to him, needs to be more aggressive playing through the baseball. He uses a shorter arm action coming from a ¾ slot that produced a top velocity of 75 mph. Offensively, he starts tall with his weight towards the back leg and on his front toe. He uses a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. He will add more power as his frame matures and adds more strength. He ran a 4.97 from home to first base. On the mound he uses a shorter arm action with average armspeed coming from an upper ¾ slot. He uses a straight up and down leg lift. His fastball was clocked at 72-75 mph. His curveball showed gradual 11/5 break at 66-68 mph. He also flashed a straight changeup at 68 mph using fastball armspeed.

Zachary McDougle, OF/2B, Gahanna Lincoln, 2016

5-foot-7, 160-pound average body frame. From the outfield he uses a good crow hop and a clean arm action coming from a ¾ slot that reached a top velocity of 76 mph. Shows good footwork playing through the baseball. Offensively, he hits from a wide, balanced set up. He is short and to the ball, contact line drive type hitter. He ran a 4.54 down the line to first-base.

Andrew McFadden, OF/2B, Manchester, 2017

5-foot-9, 155-pound body frame. From the outfield he shows pretty good footwork but can still benefit from being more aggressive towards ground balls playing through the baseball. Throws can benefit from incorporating a crow hop, he uses a shorter arm action coming from a ¾ slot producing a top velocity of 73 mph. From the infield position he can benefit the same way he can from the outfield by being more aggressive playing through the baseball. He uses a short arm action coming from a ¾ slot with 71 mph arm strength. Offensively, he starts with a closed set up and strides staying closed, he uses a weight shift with his bottom half towards his back leg for power, hands tend to drop during his trigger. Contact type hitter, that can benefit from added strength to his frame for additional power. He ran a 4.78 from home to first base.

Kenton Mickley, SS/2B, Danville, 2016

5-foot-11, 180-pound medium body frame. Defensively, he tends to stop his feet before the ball reaches him, he can benefit from being more aggressive and playing through the baseball. Does a good job fielding the ball out front. He uses a short arm action coming from a ¾ slot and reached a top velocity of 77 mph. Right-handed hitter starts with his weight slightly more towards his back leg, he is short to the ball using both sides of the field. Contact type hitter. He ran a 4.90 from home to first-base.

Murphy O’Brien, RHP, St. Ignatius, 2016

6-foot-1, 170-pound athletic body frame. Right-handed pitcher begins with a slow paced windup, uses quick armspeed coming from a ¾ slot. Delivery requires some effort. He showed good command of his fastball hitting both sides of the plate with the pitch being clocked at 81-84 mph. Has a good feel for curveball that showed gradual slurvy type action with depth consistently at 69 mph. His slider was sharp cutting across the plate at 73-75 mph.

Nate Rearick, SS/2B, Jackson, 2015

6-foot, 170-pound thin body frame with room to fill for added strength. Defensively he fields the ball out front nicely displaying soft hands. He can benefit his footwork from being a bit more aggressive playing through the baseball. He uses a short arm action coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 74 mph. Right-handed hitter begins with an open stance getting himself back to being squared up. Uses both parts of the field well. Uses a hands back to shoulder trigger, and can benefit from using his lower half more consistently. Contact type hitter, ran a 4.84 from home to first base. 

Michael Rosen, 2B/3B, Hoban, 2015

5-foot-10, 172-pound athletic body frame. Infielder shows some arm strength coming from a ¾ slot and has a quicker release reaching a top velocity of 78 mph. Shows overall good footwork playing through the ball. Offensively he hits from a balanced set up, using a smooth hands back to shoulder trigger. Simple swing mechanics, contact type hitter. Ran a 4.50 from home to first-base.

Brady Rupp, RHP/OF, Wauseon, 2016

Thin 5-foot-10, 150-pound build with room to fill. The outfielder stops his feet before he gets to a ground ball, he needs to be more aggressive and keep feet moving playing through the baseball. He could benefit from incorporating a crow hop on his throws from an upper ¾ slot with 80 mph arm strength. Offensively, he hits from a balanced set up, using a hands back to shoulder trigger. He has a contact up the middle type approach. Could use more consistent finish with his lower half. He ran a 4.94 from home to first base. On the mound he come from a ¾ arm slot, using average armspeed. Has a slight wrist wrap in the back of his arm circle. His fastball was clocked at 76-80 mph. His curveball showed signs of sharpness with late bite at 10/5 type plane reaching 67-69 mph. His slider had more gradual break at 70 mph.

Joshua Sawyer, 2B/C, North Central, 2015

5-foot-9, 148-pound thin body frame with room to fill. Infielder shows pretty good footwork playing through the baseball. Has a tendency to wind up on his throws, following the baseball after he throws should clean that up, coming from a ¾ slot and reaches a top velocity of 79 mph. Right-handed hitter starts with a balanced set up, hands back tends to get long to arm bar. He showed pull tendencies. He ran a 4.62 from home to first.

John Schroyer, RHP/OF, Archbishop Hoban, 2017

6-foot-4, 165-pound long, lanky, projectable body frame. From the outfield he tends to be a bit cautious on ground balls, he can be more aggressive through the baseball. He comes from a ¾ slot showing descent carry on his throws reaching a top velocity of 78 mph. Offensively, He begins hitting from a tall, balanced set up. Hands drop during trigger. He can benefit from using more consistent lower half to add more power. He ran a 4.70 from home to first base. On the mound he mimics Bronson Arroyo’s type leg kick, using quicker arm speed coming from a ¾ slot. His fastball was clocked at 77-80 mph. His curveball had good depth at 11/5 type plane ranging from 66-68 mph. He also showed a straight changeup using fastball armspeed at 68-69 mph.

Carter Schwartle, RHP/3B, Brecksville Broadview Heights, 2017

Average body frame. From the infield he tended to play from his heels, needs to be more aggressive and play through the ball. He threw from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 78 mph. Right-handed hitter starts from a wider, balanced set up using a simple swing with bat path staying level through the zone. Contact type hitter, ran a 4.75 from home to first-base. From the windup he turns his body back to help generate velocity, he throws from an upper ¾ slot using average armspeed. His fastball was 79-80 mph. Curveball had downward gradual break at 62-64 mph. His slider looked to be his better breaking pitch it was sharper at 66-67 mph. He also threw a straight changeup at fastball armspeed staying at 67-68 mph.

Cal Smith, SS/2B, North Olmsted, 2016

5-foot-10, 170-pound body frame. Shows athletic feet to work with that can benefit from being more aggressive playing through the ball. Does a good job fielding the ball out front nicely displaying softer hands. He shows the ability to come from different arm angles reaching a top velocity of 73 mph.  Right-handed hitter begins from a balanced set up, gets his front foot down early. Has a tendency to fly open early with lower half. Uses a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. He ran a 4.94 from home to first.

Alex Theis, OF/LHP, New Riegel, 2017

6-foot, 180-pound athletic body frame. Defensively he shows athletic footwork, doing a good job of playing through the baseball on ground balls, he comes from a clean ¾ slot but can improve carry on his throws by incorporating a crow hop that reaches a top velocity of 82 mph. Left-handed hitter starts from a wider, balanced set up. He uses a smooth hands back to shoulder trigger, does a good job using both sides of the field, gets good extension after contact on follow through. He ran a 4.38 down the line. On the mound the lefty uses a clean arm action with average armspeed coming from a ¾ slot. His delivery requires regular effort. He was mostly up in the zone with his command and release point on this occasion. His fastball ranged from 78-82 mph with some natural tail movement. Curveball showed signs of being sharp at times and was consistently thrown at 74 mph. His changeup showed similar action as his fastball at 70-71 mph.

Jake Tisevich, OF/SS, Glen Oak, 2013-College Freshmen

6-foot-2, 190-pound athletic, physical body frame. From the outfield he shows good athletic feet playing through the baseball nicely. Throws from ¾ slot using a good crow hop reaching a top velocity of 79 mph. From the infield he shows pretty good footwork, has a quick release that he can throw from different angles at a top velocity of 78 mph. Right-handed hitter starts with a balanced set up, showing quick hand speed, and has good pop in his bat. He ran a 4.29 from home to first.

Eric Wentz, OF/1B, Twinsburg, 2016

5-foot-7, 140-pound thin build with room to fill. From the outfield he showed athletic feet to work with, but could be a little more aggressive playing through the baseball. He threw from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 80 mph. Left-handed hitter starts from a very open hitting stance getting back to even. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field. Contact type hitter that will gain more power from adding strength to his frame. He ran a 4.51 from home to first base.

Collin Winters, SS/3B, Medina, 2016

6-foot-1, 170-pound athletic body frame. From the outfield, he could be more aggressive playing through ground balls, tends to take cautious routes. Throws using a ¾ slot with descent carry reaching a top velocity of 85 mph. From the infield he displays athletic footwork, and does well fielding through the baseball.
