OK Fuel (2) vs. St. Louis Prospects (1)

Uncommitted 2021 3B/RHP Carson Benge (Yukon HS, OK) paced the way for the Fuel, limiting the Prospects to just one run over five-plus innings of work, and delivering an RBI-single at the plate. The wiry-athletic, 6-foot, 160-pound right-hander worked 80-83 from a lower slot that produced some arm side life as he stepped across his body. He pounded the zone with strikes, and was able to get ground balls with the fastball while getting some swings and misses with a frisbee-slider at 65-69. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has a relaxed setup with loose wrists, and showcases the ability to use the whole field. His frame will likely carry much more strength in the future, and he has strong potential of continuing as a two-way player at the next level.

INF Cayden Brumbaugh (Edmond Santa Fe HS, OK) finished the day 2-for-3 for the OK Fuel with a double that was driven to right-center field. His smaller stature does not immediately stand out, but the way that he carries himself does. He is confident in his approach at the plate, and seems to expect success at all times without being loud about it. The right-handed hitter keeps his hands inside the ball, and looked to work line drives from gap to gap with a direct approach to the ball and quick hands. He moves well with crisp footwork and confident glove-play at second base. Fun player to watch compete.

Uncommitted 2021 RHP Bode Brooks (Tuttle HS, OK) was brought into the game with multiple runners on in the sixth inning to secure the 2-1 victory for the Fuel. Aggressive towards the plate with his lower half, the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder worked 84-86 with his fastball, and showed confidence in going to his sharp, 75-76 slider in any counts, but especially when putting hitters away. The fastball command varied, but the slider seemed to help him find his near ¾ slot. With the ability to get swings and misses on the slider, Benge is an intriguing follow moving forward.
