Since its inception in 2014, Prep Baseball Report Iowa has evolved into one of the most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive year-round coverage in the state. The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote amateur baseball - high school, junior college and college - and, ultimately, help athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level.

Prep Baseball Report Iowa is excited to announce the launch of the PBR Iowa Spring League.

The PBR Iowa Spring League is designed to allow players in the state the opportunity to compete against top competition, continue to develop and refine their skill-set in preparation for the Iowa summer season, and offer participants an economical and family friendly schedule to take advantage of.

“Personally, I’ve felt that there needs to simply be a better way for players in the state to compete in a competitive atmosphere in the spring; while fully understanding that this is an opportunity for them to prepare for the summer season ahead,” said Prep Baseball Report Iowa State Director Rob Allison. “This has been a project that we have placed immense time and energy into. We have worked extremely hard to put this together with the sole focus of providing the best platform we possibly can for the teams, participants, and their families; while holding true to our direction of providing the most accurate and reliable information to college coaches and professional scouts.”

Select club teams will have the autonomy to compile their own players to participate in the league; and individual selected players will be offered invitations to participate this year for exclusive PBR Iowa Elite teams.

The league will be broken up into two divisions: 18U (2022 & 2023 Grads) and 16U (2024 & 2025 Grads) spanning six weeks of games- designated for Sunday’s each week.

Each division will alternate each week between selected field sites in Central and Eastern Iowa; for a total of 12 games per team played. Each team will play two 7-inning games each Sunday; and on Easter weekend- games will be on Saturday.

The league begins on March 12th & 13th, 2022. This will be our Spring Training Weekend. All teams will have scheduled practice and game times this particular weekend; hosted at the Creekside Baseball Complex in Parkville, MO (20 minutes from Downtown Kansas City). The schedule will then proceed each Sunday through Saturday, April 16th, 2022. Sunday, April 24th, 2022 is the designated make-up day for games lost to weather.

At the conclusion of the league- PBR Iowa will be hosting showcase(s) the weekend of April 30th and all league participants will receive a discounted rate to attend if they so choose.
