The PBR MN Scout Day- MN Mash event took place on Sunday, October 22, 2017. The event was held at the West St. Paul Sports Dome in West St. Paul, MN. The event featured prospects from the 2018-2021 classes who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and college coaches in attendance. Jack Baumbach, 3B/RHP, Farmington, 2020
6-foot, 200-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Physical frame with strong lower half. 7.66 runner. Open stance, lift in swing plane, flashes hard contact with pop in bat, fly ball hitter, 86 mph exit velocity. Solid footwork and actions, fields with flat glove creating stiffness, works through baseball well, shows body control on the run, arm plays well with accuracy and carry to bag, 78 mph arm strength across infield. On mound; side step into controlled medium balance point, longer arm action, clean out front and arm cuts across body. Fastball was 75-77 mph, touched 80 mph once, thrown on slight downhill plane. Short break and small shape on 11/5 curveball for strikes. Slight running action on firm changeup.

Brock Brumley, RHP/SS, Minnehaha Academy, 2019
6-foot, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; controlled delivery into slight tuck and turn. Lands slightly across body hiding long arm action from ¾ slot. Fastball was 77-79 mph with flashes of run and sink. 11/5 breaking ball has solid spin and depth to plate. Cut action on changeup; thrown near fastball arm speed. 7.72 runner. Tall athletic stance, easy load and stride, some length to contact, flashes hard contact, clean path through zone, 74 mph exit velocity. Shows solid feet and hands in field, low ¾ arm slot, covers ground well, accurate to bag, 73 mph arm across infield.

Carter Budde, 3B/OF/RHP, Farmington, 2019
5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitting utility player. 7.53 runner. Open stance, has balance in swing, easy bat path, inside/out at contact, gap to gap approach, spray across whole field, 78 mph exit velocity. Sure hands in field, decent athlete, slings ball towards target, 77 mph arm from outfield. Avg. actions in field, solid hands, make routine plays, 71 mph arm across infield. On mound; rocker step into short balance point, compact arm action, lands on collapsed front leg, falls off to first base side. Fastball was straight at 73-75 mph. Avg. feel for short breaking 11/5 curveball with small shape. Cut action on changeup with avg. overall action.

Thomas Buell, C, Henry Sibley, 2019
5-foot-8, 160-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.72 runner. Square balanced stance, slight crouch, some stiffness to swing, line drive swing plane, gap to gap approach, inconsistent contact, 78 mph exit velocity. Wide athletic stance, works through plate, clean exchange, quick release, good accuracy to bag, 70 mph arm from behind plate with 2.21-2.32 pop times. 5-foot-10, 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 7.26 runner. Tall narrow stance, rushes load, linear actions through contact, mid/pull approach, consistent solid contact, hard line drives and ground balls, 72 mph exit velocity. Shows good actions in field, plays on balls of feet, developing footwork, soft hands, accurate to bag on throws, 73 mph arm across infield.

Antonio DeLugo, RHP/OF, Apple Valley, 2018
5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #153 ranked player in MN 2018 class. On mound; controlled delivery into athletic tuck and turn balance point. Slight wrap on back-side but ball comes out clean in front with hand quickness. Fastball was 79-81 mph with flashes of run and late life. Throws breaking ball with good arm speed; creating solid 11/5 shape with ability to land consistently for strikes. Late sink on above avg. changeup thrown at fastball arm speed. 6.97 runner. Open stance, active load, aggressive swinger, lift in swing plane, flashes hard pull contact with pop in bat, 84 mph exit velocity. Shows athleticism in field, confident fielder, has carry and accuracy, 86 mph arm from outfield. Sure hands in field, solid footwork and actions, has carry and accuracy to bag, 83 mph arm across infield.

Raleigh Droel, OF, St. Thomas Academy, 2020
5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 7.13 runner. Present strength, short to contact, produces bat speed, aggressive line drive swing plane, line drive and fly ball contact, gap to gap approach, 84 mph exit velocity. Fields on side, stiff actions in field, compact arm action, solid accuracy to target, 79 mph arm from outfield. Austin Field, C, Eastview, 2021
5-foot-11, 145-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.03 runner. Open stance, crouched over plate, slight rhythm in hands, steep uphill bat plane, inside/out at contact, fly ball hitter, 76 mph exit velocity. Narrow stance, avg. receiving, short arm action, accurate around bag, 65 mph arm strength with 2.47-2.53 pop times. Works around ball, tends to play flat-footed, makes routine plays, 65 mph arm across infield.

Kaden Gage, SS/RHP, Eagan, 2018
5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.07 runner. Tall stance, leg kick trigger, steep lift through zone, flashes hard contact middle/in, 84 mph exit velocity. Plays fast in field, sure hands, slightly raw mechanics, makes plays, covers ground and has good range, accurate to bag, 84 mph arm across infield. On mound; controlled step into medium balance point, slight hitch working down mound, some effort in release with head whack. Fastball was 82-84 mph, quick out front, with occasional life. Above avg. ability to land tight spinning 11/5 breaking ball with solid depth. Changeup is currently straight and is thrown firm.

Ty Gage, C, Eagan, 2020
5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.57 runner. Front shoulder tip, lower hand slot, flat swing plane with lift through contact, spray contact, 79 mph exit velocity. Solid athlete behind plate, works around batter with feet, clean exchange, quicker release, ¾ slot, solid accuracy to bag, 70 mph arm strength with 2.19-2.28 pop times.

Matthew Hansberry, OF/RHP, Benilde St. Margaret’s, 2019
5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.08 runner. Square stance, aggressive swinger, flat bat path, solid balance in swing, pull approach, flashes hard line drive and fly ball contact, 79 mph exit velocity. Solid athleticism, long arm action, works through ball with quick release, shows carry and accuracy to target, 82 mph arm from outfield. Decent footwork and actions, plays fast, works through baseball, sure hands, accurate to bag, 80 mph arm across infield.

Brandon Hugo, SS/RHP, Burnsville, 2019
6-foot-3, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Will make a jump into MN 2019 rankings. 7.33 runner. Open stance, knee to knee trigger, strides to square, line drive swing plane, inconsistent contact but flashes above avg. pop to pull side of field, 82 mph exit velocity. Works down to up, fields out front, soft hands, solid actions, above avg. arm with carry and accuracy to bag, 82 mph arm across infield. On mound; side step in to tall balance point, works down mound well, shows arm speed and hand is quick out front. Fastball was 82-85 mph; thrown downhill with straight action. Throws solid 11/5 breaking ball for strikes. Keeps changeup in bottom of zone with above avg. fade.

Trevor Korsa, SS, Lakeville South, 2019
5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 7.34 runner. Closed stance, body and shoulder load, some stiffness to bat path, gap to gap approach, with consistent line drive contact, 75 mph exit velocity. Quick twitch with solid actions in field, flashes athleticism, sure hands, quick release on throws, accurate to bag, 74 mph arm across infield.

Bradley Koskie, OF/LHP, Providence Academy, 2019
5-foot-9, 155-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. Will make a jump into MN 2019 rankings once updated. 7.27 runner. Open stance, shoulder load, short stride, slight lift in line drive swing plane, mid/away approach, consistent hard contact, 77 mph exit velocity. Athletic actions in field, plays on balls of feet, confident fielder, good direction on throws, accurate to target with carry, 86 mph arm from outfield. Fields well at first, easy actions, comfortable around bag, 82 mph arm across infield. On mound; easy actions in delivery, short balance point, with long deliberate arm action. Fastball was 80-81 mph showing slight life from ¾ arm slot. Throws above avg. breaking ball with extremely tight 1/7 spin and sharp break for strikes. Solid fade with developing command and feel for changeup.

Brady LaBahn, OF/RHP, Apple Valley, 2019
6-foot, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 6.94 runner. Square stance, long stride, aggressive line drive swing, hitchy rhythm, gap to gap approach with solid contact, 75 mph exit velocity. Works through baseball, compact arm action, accurate to target, 78 mph arm from outfield. Avg. footwork with sure hands, accurate to bag, avg. overall actions, 76 mph arm from infield. On mound; side step into up-tempo delivery, lands in-line with catcher, upright at release. Fastball was 75-77 mph, straight action, on slight downhill plane. Lacks command and feel for breaking ball currently. Stiff throwing action and flat plane on changeup.

AJ Lattery, RHP/1B, Prior Lake, 2019
6-foot-5, 240-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Large durable frame. #25 ranked prospect in MN 2019 class.  On mound; picks up tempo through delivery, hitchy rhythm, compact arm action, has extension and finish to plate. Fastball was consistently 85-86 mph, straight, delivered on slight downhill plane to hitter. Shows ability to land 11/5 breaking ball for strikes; has occasional flat break to plate. Shows feel and command of changeup with flashes of above avg. fade and sink. 7.88 runner. Tall stance, easy load and stride, clean bat path, consistent hard contact, uses both gaps well, line drive and fly ball contact, 96 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, confident fielder, moves well around bag, above avg. at position, 85 mph arm across infield.

Gavin Lund, OF/1B/RHP, Farmington, 2020
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Projectable build with strong frame and has room to continue to add strength and size. 7.13 runner. Wide stance, good balance, works uphill through contact, flashes pop in bat, gap to gap approach, produces above avg. bat speed, 81 mph exit velocity. Clean arm action, plays fast in field, online throws with carry and accuracy, projects as college right-fielder, 84 mph arm from outfield. Sure hands at first, solid around bag, decent receiver, 82 mph arm across infield. On mound; quick turn into strong balance point, long arm action, lands in line to catcher, with extension and finish to plate. Low effort ability to throw strikes with fastball, slight cutting action, at 79-81 mph. Solid depth on 11/5 breaking ball. Flat action with avg. feel for changeup.

Cade Marsolek, RHP/OF, Burnsville, 2019
6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Will make a jump into MN 2019 rankings. On mound; controlled delivery with tempo and athleticism, long whippy low ¾ arm slot, slight wrap on back-side, and lands inline to catcher. Fastball was 80-81 mph, has present life, with flashes of late run and sink. Breaking ball could develop into above avg. pitch; currently has sweeping action with 11/5 shape. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm action and has plus fade in the bottom of zone. 7.06 runner. Open stance, athletic actions, inverted swing plane, hard mid/away contact, line drives and fly balls, with above avg. extension through zone, 86 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, works through ball, creates direction to target, above avg. arm action, accurate to target, 82 mph arm from outfield.

Logan Meyer, SS/RHP, Totino-Grace, 2020
6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.31 runner. Square stance, hitchy trigger, loses posture through contact, uphill swing plane, spray contact, 75 mph exit velocity. Avg. actions in field, stiff hands, makes routine plays, accurate to bag on throws, 71 mph arm across infield. On mound; rolls into crouched balance point, one piece arm action, and lands in line to catcher, from OT slot. Fastball was 73-74 mph, thrown downhill, with slight run and sink. Curveball has early break with inconsistent 11/5 shape and spin. Tends to slow arm on changeup; still has solid fade at the plate.

Ryan Munson, SS/RHP, Eastview, 2020
5-foot-10, 165-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.14 runner. Open stance, shows rhythm and athleticism in swing, slashy line drive swing plane, shows ability to work oppo gap, 77 mph exit velocity. Fields with two hands, avg. fielding ability, avg. accuracy and carry, 76 mph outfield velocity. Aggressive routes through baseball, avg. hands, plays up-tempo in field, accurate to bag, 77 mph arm across infield.

Aiden Oates, SS/C, Rosemount, 2021
5-foot-11, 141-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.2 runner. Open stance, slight crouch, shoulder load, shows athleticism in swing, gap to gap approach, consistent hard line drive contact, follow in 2021 class, 73 mph exit velocity. Flexible lower half, clean exchange, some length to release, stands up to throw, short to bag on throws, 68 mph arm strength with 2.26-2.39 pop times. 5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.97 runner. Closed stance, body load, solid extension through contact, stays on baseball, line drive contact, barrels baseball consistently, 81 mph exit velocity. Shows sure hands in field, avg. footwork and actions, long release on throws, accurate to bag, 70 mph arm across infield. On mound; turn into medium balance point, drop and drive mechanics, slight shoulder tip, up and over to release, with compact arm action. Fastball was straight; thrown at 75-77 mph for strikes. 11/5 curveball has solid shape and spin with avg. depth. Sound changeup with flashes of fade and sink.

Timothy Stewart, C, Burnsville, 2020
6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.69 runner. Tall open stance, handles middle/in well, barrels exits hitting zone early, flashes strength in barrel, spray contact to mid/pull side, 78 mph exit velocity. Solid strength in hands, stands up to through, has direction, catapult arm action, solid accuracy to bag, 69 mph arm strength with 2.14-2.22 pop times.

Ben Taxdahl, RHP/3B, St. Thomas Academy, 2021
5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Projectable frame for 2021 grad. On mound; side step into high tuck and turn delivery, works down mound well and in-line with catcher, compact arm action out front. Fastball was 74-75 mph, touching 79 mph once, on slight downhill plane and occasional cut. Wraps breaking ball early; has 11/5 shape and avg. depth to plate. Tends to drag elbow on changeup; cut action with solid fade. 7.64 runner. Narrow stance, linear lower half, slight lift in swing plane, produces hard line drive and fly ball contact, gap to gap approach, solid follow in 2021 class, 82 mph exit velocity. Daniel Turner, RHP/SS, New Prague, 2018
6-foot-6, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #175 ranked player in MN 2018 class. Solid tempo into lower front leg balance point, lands slightly across body, with long clean arm action. Fastball was 80-82 mph with varying sink and cut action for strikes. Solid ability to land 11/5 breaking ball for strikes with shape and depth. Changeup is firm with flat action to plate. 6.78 runner. Active load and stride, flashes hard loud contact when on time, gap to gap approach, inconsistent timing but drives ball well when extended, 82 mph exit velocity. Lean athletic frame, shows good actions, soft hands, moves through baseball well, has carry and accuracy to target, 80 mph arm across infield.

Matthew Weber, RHP/IF, Randolph, 2020
5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; side step into controlled athletic balance point, medium balance point, and lands inline to catcher. Clean compact arm action producing 72-73 mph fastballs with slight sinking action. Breaking ball is close to 12/6 shape with above avg. depth and shape. Above avg. fade and depth on changeup; confident in pitch and throws consistently for quality strikes. 8.28 runner. Open stance, body load, balanced swing, drops into hitchy lower hand slot, flashed solid contact, spray across field, 77 mph exit velocity. Decent athlete, plays flat footed, avg. footwork, sound range, accurate arm to bag, 71 mph arm strength across infield.

Jordan Young, 3B, St. Thomas Academy, 2021
5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. Compact athletic frame with solid present strength. 6.62 runner. Spread stance, line drive swing plane, raw overall mechanically, should continue to improve with reps and development, 82 mph exit velocity.
