PBR Michigan Spotlight Game: Dearborn Divine Chile vs (D-2) #1 Orchard Lake St. Mary's

Divine Child was last year’s Catholic League A-B division runner up and looked to return to the championship game once again. Orchard Lake is the defending state champion in Division 2. The winner of this contest would move on to play in the Championship game in Comerica Park.

Orchard Lake’s senior All-Stater Drake Titus (Army commit) took the mound against 2017 Danny Bullard of Divine Child. Both pitchers cruised through the first two innings combined allowing 1 hit and no runs.

Orchard Lake struck first in the bottom of the third inning. Titus singled to center field and moved to second on a balk call. 2018 Carter Macias drove Titus in with an RBI single to center giving Orchard Lake the early lead.

In the top of the 6th inning with two outs 2017 Zack Krauss singled to left and advanced to second as 2016 Frankie Lucska drew a free pass. 2016 Liberty commit Torey DeMare swung and missed on a ball in the dirt for strike 3. Orchard Lake’s catcher sailed the throw to 1st base into right field scoring Krauss knotting the score at 1-1.

In the bottom of the 8th inning 2016’s Drew Boyd and Griffin Sheposh both reached base on singles. 2016 U of M commit Harrison Salter earned a free pass and with the bases juiced 2017 Jack McCarthy was hit by pitch, scoring the winning run.
