PBR New England Spotlight Game: CNEPSBL - Thomas Blackburn Championship Tournament

The first game of the day between Andover and Exeter was all about Andover’s Travis Lane (2018) who threw a shutout while knocking in a two insurance runs with a single in the sixth. Andover advanced to the championship on the 3-0 win.

Game two featured first seeded Worcester academy and 4th seeded Tabor Academy.

Morgan Mcsweeney dominated on the mound throwing a complete game while only giving up 3 runs. Alex Brickman and Mariano Ricciardi led the offense. Brickman had 2 doubles with 3 RBI and Ricciardi was 3-3 and added a stolen base in the 7-3 win for Worcester.

The Championship game was a dramatic 8 inning battle between 1st seeded Worcester and 2nd seeded Andover.

The game was a pitchers duel between Andover’s, Anthony Redfern who gave up 1 run on 5 hits and Worcester`s Alex Brickman.

Worcester took an early 1-0 lead but Sam Conte (2018) tied the game in the 3rd with a solo homerun.

The game was tied until the top of the 8th when Payton Jancsy (2016) hit the game-winning solo homerun.

Matt Wesoloski (2016) closed the game out to give Andover the 2016 Championship.
