PBR New England Spotlight Game: Ludlow vs Minnechaug

Minnechaug HS grabbed the lead early and never looked back. Steve Pickering’s (’17) two RBI double in the bottom of the first inning proved to be the difference en route to a 5-1 victory. 

Pickering would also come around to score to cap a three-run first inning for Minnechaug HS.

Brian Tessicini (’17) pitched a complete game and kept the Ludlow HS lineup in check, allowing only one run on three hits, while striking out nine over seven very strong innings of work.

Zach Chipman (’18) took the loss for Ludlow HS, allowing five runs over four innings of work, while striking out four. 

Chipman had trouble getting into a groove early and Minnechaug HS hitters took advantage of it. Trouble early led to a high pitch count, as Ludlow HS went to their bullpen by the fifth inning.
