SCOUT BLOG

Aiden Smith, RHP, Clover HS, 2026

Strong athletic frame that has put on strength especially in his legs.  Quick paced delivery with medium arm swing while throwing from a high ¾ slot.  Good quick arm speed with intent.  Fastball up to 85 mph while sitting 81-84 mph.  Showed feel for a breaking ball along with a changeup that showed good action down in the zone.  Came in relief and after a little erratic command in his first inning and  settled in and really dominated hitters while location his FB in and out.

Jackson Mullen, SS/RHP, Catawba Ridge, 2024, CofC Commit

6-2 175 pound lean athletic frame with room to add on.  This look at Mullen was just with the bat and glove and defensively was able to show off his range along with his plus arm strength while making throws from deep in the 6 hole and also ranging up the middle and showing his athleticism and throwing from multiple arm angles.  With the bat showed an aggressive approach while getting his swings off but also his ability to use the whole field.  Has a short flat stroke with good strength in hands at contact.  Fun athlete to watch play the game.

Banks Wickersham, C/INF/RHP, Fort Dorchester, 2026

Big time talent from this young man.  A strong frame at 6-0 185 pounds with good athleticism.  Can play all over the field and this day was on the mound as he came in relief.  This right hander shows big time talent with a quick athletic arm while throwing from a loose ¾ arm slot.  FB was 84-87 mph with some arm side run and mixed in a slider that was 76-77 mph with good spin to it.  High end 2 way prospect as he continues to grow and mature!

Cooper Coleman, RHP, West Florence, 2025

Strong athletic frame at 6-0 190 pounds.  Came out and was attacking hitters with lots of strikes early on and good tempo.  A shorter arm swing in the back while throwing from a H ¾ arm slot.  Arm showed quickness to it and deception.  Fastball was 85-87 mph with some arm side run to it while showing the ability to move it around the zone.  Slider had a bigger break to it while sitting 74-76 mph and had a good feel for it to throw it in any count.

Grayson Anderson, RHP, Alexander Central (NC), 2025

Anderson came out of the pen and was attacking hitters with a good fastball and good slider.  Fastball showed good life to it while sitting 83-86 mph with some arm side run to it.  Was able to throw his FB to both sides of the plate.  Slider was firm and had good action to it while sitting 75-77 mph.

Calvin Douglas, RHP, Cuthbertson (NC), 2024

A tall slender athletic build at 6-3 185 pounds with lots of projection left.  Throws from an over the top arm action with good tilt to his pitches.  Used a good mix of FB/CB to keep hitters off balanced.  A little erratic in his command to start but once he settled in hitters did not get many good swings off him.  FB was 80-84 mph but was able to pitch at the top and bottom of the zone with it.  CB came out of the same window and made it tough for the hitters to pick it up while continuing to chase it in the dirt.

Larson Montgomery, RHP, York, 2025

A lean 6-foot, 165 pounds who showed an 82-86 mph fastball at Shipyard Park over the weekend at the PBRT South Carolina Fall Championships, as well as some feel to spin a sweeping slider, 70-72 mph. Short, quick arm that he repeats well.

Peyton Dhein, LHP, Catawba Ridge, 2024, VMI Commit

VMI commit. Lean 5-foot-11, 175 pounds. Different look that could create issues for hitters.  Long arm swing.  Low-¾ slot.  Slight cross-fire.  Loose arm with solid arm speed.  Fastball at 80-84, while being able to move the FB around the zone.  Slider showed good sweeping action to it while at 70-73 mph and being able to back door it to RHH.

Gavin Hug, RHP, Greer, 2024, Mars Hill Commit

Strong frame at 6-0 185 pounds.  Attacked hitters with a good mix of FB/SL.  Had a longer arm swing in the back while throwing from a ¾ arm slot.  Fastball showed good life to it while sitting 84-86 mph.  Slider had good break and action to it and able to put hitters away with it and sitting 74-75 mph

JR Struk, INF, Oceanside Collegiate, 2025

6-2 195 pound physical athletic frame.  Hits from an athletic stance with good rhythm in hands and body.  Has a small stride and forward movement to launch.  A short compact swing while staying behind the ball and working through the right center gap with a line drive approach.  Defensively showed smooth footwork and clean exchanges out front, while throwing with a short clean arm action and showing the ability to throw from different arm angles.

Aidan Brusman, INF, Oceanside Collegiate, 2025

Strong athletic frame at 5-11 175 pounds.  Simple setup with good rhythm in stance and takes good aggressive swings while showing the ability to drive the balls to all fields.  Good 2K approach while shorting up and using the backside of the field.
