CINCINNATI, OH- After Williamsburg jumped off to an early lead, a huge bottom of the third inning put Madeira High school ahead 11-3 in a Division III sectional championship game that was postponed in the bottom of the third due to the stormy weather.

Madeira put the pearl in sophomore right handed pitcher, Jake Megois's hands against Williamsburg's Austin Horn, but neither pitcher was able to make it out of the second inning before each coach had to place a call to their bullpens.

Megois started out very strong in the top of the first quickly getting the first two outs before conceding a two out walk to Williamsburg's sophomore catcher Zach Ward. Fortunately for Madeira, Megois got out of the inning unscathed by striking out the next hitter giving Madeira their chance to swing the bat.

Horn replicated his counterparts sequence in the bottom of the first, getting back-to-back groundballs and then forfeiting a two out walk that did not do any damage.

In the top of the second, Williamsburg freshman first baseman, Andrew Smith hit a line drive to left field to leadoff the inning. A fly out, followed by an RBI single by sophomore Spencer Clowery got Williamsburg on the board.

Three straight walks chased Megois and forced Madeira to turn to sophomore right hander Cameron Mccullugh to help bail out his teammate.

After picking off a base runner and getting a fly out, the cleanup job by Mccullough was not enough to keep Williamsburg from getting another run making the score 3-0 heading into the bottom of the second.

Madeira answered in the bottom of the second with timely two out hitting.

A walk and passed ball put a runner on second base bringing sophomore catcher, Kurtis Groene up to the plate.

Groene provided the Mustangs with a clutch two out RBI single into right field as he muscled a fastball into right field.

The Madiera two out rally wasn't finished quite yet.

Cam Mccullugh helped his own cause with a single as the Mustangs loaded the bases and chased Horn following a walk and a hit batsmen. Junior first baseman, Jake Hyatt scorched a ball under the third basemen's glove scoring two more runners which lead to a throwing error clearing the bases.

After the all the two out rally, Madiera lead 4-3 entering the third inning.

Mccullough gave up a bloop single to sophomore Ward and also hit a batter in the top of the third.  Fortunately for Mccullough, no damage was done due to two strikeouts and a fielder's choice.

The bottom of the third inning was as ugly as the weather that started looming over the field for Williamsburg's pitching and defense.

Madiera began the inning with back-to-back hits by junior Colin Voisard and sophomore Jake Megois. A Williamsburg pitching change after another hit batsmen brought Kurtis Groene back up to the plate with loaded bases.

He again delivered for Madeira with another RBI single.

After a strikeout, it would only go downhill from there for Williamsburg when dealing with the next six batters.

Doubles by junior infielder, Kyle Rizzuto and sophomore, Jake Anfinsen were accompanied by senior Josh Lowndes and Junior Jake Hyatt singles that were finally capped off by back-to-back hit batsmen. Madeira plated seven runs in the inning taking a commanding 11-3 lead.

This is fortunately for Williamsburg where the weather stopped the game and the bleeding. The teams are scheduled to play on the 22nd to finish the district matchup.
