BRUNSWICK, OHIO – Elyria hs travelled to Brunswick HS to play the first of back-to- back conference games.

Brunswick treated their guests roughly, sending the pioneers back to Elyria with a 10-0 defeat.

The game started with both pitchers posting blanks on the scoreboard. But, Brunswick erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the second inning en route to a decisive rain soaked win.

Senior Ohio State recruit Kyle Michalik (3 for 4, 2 doubles, 3 RBI), senior Cincinnati recruit Brian Lees (2-3, HR, 3 RBI) and unsigned senior Kyle Wheeler (2-3, 2B, RBI) led the potent Brunswick offense which had eight players who either scored or drove in runs.

Unsigned senior southpaw Gerry Salisbury complimented the offense nicely with a two-hit, 12 strikeout performance. Salsbury kept the Elyria hitters off balance early with good use of his fastball and slider, but ultimately dominated with his fastball as cold, darkness, and rain increased throughout the game.  The uncommitted senior also added a hit and an rbi.

Elyria junior centerfielder Jacob Csizmadia had a hard hit opposite field double for one of his squads two hits.
