PBR Spotlight Game: No. 18 (D-I) Perrysburg vs. No. 9 (D-III) Archbold

ARCHBOLD -- Perrysburg pounded out 36 runs on 29 hits and cruised past Archbold (Ranked No. 9 D-III) 17-8 and 19-4 in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets (Ranked No 18 D-I) scored in all but three of the 14 innings played in the sweep.
In game one, the Yellow Jackets' unsigned senior backstop Kyle Durham (5-10, 215, pictured right) crushed two home runs and a double while driving in four. Durham's blasts went as high as they did far and traveled out of the park in RF and dead CF. Uber-talented Top Prospect Games participant Mark Delas was on the mound, going five innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out five. Delas also added a bases-clearing double in the second inning. 
In game two, Delas (pictured left)
reached base all six plate appearances (four singles, double, walk and six RBIs). On the day, Delas was 6-for-10 (four singles, two doubles, two walks, 10 RBIs and four runs scored).
Senior Bennett Westfall went the distance for the Yellow Jackets in game two allowing four runs while striking out five. Two-hole hitter Austin Lee roped a double and triple in game two.
Archbold, which came in unbeaten at 9-0, was led by speedy junior Jase Grosjean (pictured) who reached base six-of-nine plate appearances (four walks, bunt single, double, stolen base).
Talented Top Prospect Games participant Tyson Schnitkey didn't have his best stuff on the day, as he could not find the strike zone. Schnitkey allowed 7 hits and 5 walks, while striking out three. Schnitkey still flashed signs of his potential as he settled down after a rough first inning.
Perrysburg looks to continue its hot streak traveling to NLL rival Sylvania Northview on Monday, while Archbold looks to regroup on the road in Stryker on Tuesday.
