BRECKSVILLE, OHIO
– Strongsville HS traveled to top seeded Brecksville HS to play for a Division I sectional championship baseball game.

Starting on the mound for the Brecksville Bees was junior left-handed pitcher Joe Domzalski. The Strongsville Mustangs countered with Lake Erie College recruit senior right-handed pitcher Austin Previt.

The scoring began in the top of the first when Strongsville put up the first run of the game by way of a two out RBI double to left-center field from junior third-baseman Jordan Sedivy.

In the home half of the first, Brecksville struck back with a run of their own coming from a 6-3 put out off the bat of junior right-fielder Colton Carney to tie up the game at one run a piece.

The scoring would pick up again in the third inning.

After back to back singles, Sedivy, junior designated hitter Ryan Frank, and senior center-fielder Brad Wiemken each came up huge with three, two-out RBI doubles scoring four runs, making it a 5-1 Strongsville lead.

However, this would be the end of the scoring for Strongsville, and Brecksville came back strong.

Senior left-fielder Anthony Miragliotta, senior centerfielder Joe Houk, and Carney strung together three consecutive doubles to start off the inning. Later, senior first baseman Vlad Kovacevic hit a key double with the bases loaded scoring two additional runs. The Bees managed to take the lead back, making it a 7 to 5 ball game.

In the top of the fourth, Brecksville sent out junior right-handed pitcher Perry Dellavalle to the mound. He would not disappoint as he silenced the Strongsville bats for the remainder of the game giving up only three hits, striking out three, and walking zero batters.

Brecksville raised their record to 25-2 while Strongsville, who has experience a wild season due to absence of their coaches due to a teacher’s union strike, ends with a final record of 14-12.
