PBR Spotlight Game: Poland Seminary vs Youngstown Ursuline

In the first game of season for both teams Poland Seminary cruised past Youngstown Ursuline 7-1 behind an outstanding performance on the mound by Adam Knight as well as an explosive hitting display in the first inning.

Adam Knight (Poland Seminary, 2015) held the Irish to just two hits and zero runs while striking out five in his five innings of work, earning the win for the Bulldogs.

Mark Passarello (Poland Seminary, 2015) came in to relieve Knight, tossing two innings, surrendering one run on two hits.

Poland was ready to swing the bats as they came out of the gate on fire, tacking on five runs in the top of the 1st inning.

The big blow coming after an error which loaded the bases as Patrick O’Shaughnessy (Poland Seminary, 2017) drove a ball to the wall in right field. The sophomore ended up on third with a triple, scoring three runs.

Uncommitted junior Jared Burkert (Poland Seminary, 2016) led the offensive attack for the Bulldogs, going 3-4 with a double and a run scored.
