MIAMISBURG, OH – In a game hyped by Jeremy Randolph’s start, the Miamisburg Vikings laid a hurting on the West Carrollton Pirates.

Starting right handed pitcher Jeremy Randolph (pictured right) stole the show yesterday as he took the mound with numerous college and professional scouts in attendance.  Randolph, who was planning on taking his skills to Wright State after this season, will now have plenty of other options on the table.

After giving up a single to West Carrollton leadoff hitter Ty Page, Randolph did exactly what was expected of him recording three quick outs while striking out two to finish his first inning of work.

Poor defense on the part of West Carrollton allowed Miamisburg to grab an early lead in the bottom half of the first.  The Vikings would get on the board when Kevin Teasdale laid down a squeeze, plating Lake Erie commit Wesley Birchmeier.  Shortly after, Miamisburg was able to add two more runs giving Randolph a 3-0 cushion.

In the bottom of the third, the Vikings lineup exploded scoring six runs.  The biggest blows came when Wesley Birchmeier and Josh Baker recorded back to back two RBI singles.  Brad Sorg and Jeremy Randolph would also add RBI singles of their own stretching the Vikings lead to 9-0.

Randolph continued to mow down the West Carrollton lineup.  In the bottom of the fifth, Randolph put the game out of reach when he stepped in the box for his fourth at bat of the game.  With a runner on, Randolph launched a home-run over the left field fence ending the game at 11-0 as Miamisburg run ruled West Carrollton.

With the win, Jeremy Randolph has improved his record to 4-2 with a 1.33 ERA.
