GRANDVIEW, OHIO - Division I prospect Caleb Ferguson struck out 13 in his start against Grandview HS.

West Jefferson’s bats went ice cold after scoring in the 2nd, and it was not until the sixth inning that the Roughriders would be able to score another run making the game 3-2 in favor of Grandview.

In a do or die situation in the top of the 7thinning, West Jefferson’s nine-hole hitter Zach Campbell started the inning with a double, and came around to score making the game tied 3-3. In the bottom of the inning, Ferguson shut the Grandview hitters down pushing the game into extra innings.

After multiple chances for West Jefferson to score in the eight inning, it seemed as if it was Grandview’s game to win. Ferguson’s day was done, so the Roughriders turned to Carter Harris who went recorded three quick outs pushing it to the ninth inning.

West Jefferson’s JD Miller started the inning off with a walk. Miller got into scoring position and Carter Harris drove a single into the outfield, which turned out to be the game-winning run.
