Prep Baseball Report

Pennsylvania Daily Roundup for May 5th

With the excellent weather this spring an oddity took place on Saturday, there were very few games played. In a typical spring a Saturday late in the season would see many teams playing two and sometimes three games to get caught up with postponed games. This has not been a typical spring though with a lot of dry weather and temperatures in the upper 70's and 80's for much of this past week. Here are the games that did take place involving teams in the Prep Baseball Report state rankings.

No. 7 Malvern Prep 6,  Radnor 5
Radnor scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to make things interesting, but Malvern Prep (23-5) was able to hold on for the win.

No. 8 Seneca Valley 3,  Moon 0
Seneca Valley (14-3) stayed hot with a non-conference shutout over moon.

No. 13 Penn Charter 8,  Pottsgrove 2
Ted Foley pitched a complete game two-hitter to lead Penn Charter (20-5) to the win.  Colton DellaValle had three RBI to lead the offense.

No. 18 Hershey 11,  State College 3
Hershey (15-1) continued to impress with a dominating win against State College this afternoon.

No. 18 Hershey 5, Cumberland Valley 1
Zach Drayer had success on the mound and at the plate to lead Hershey to its second win of the day over Cumberland Valley (10-7). Drayer went the distance on the mound for the win and coupled that with a first inning home run to ignite the offense for Hershey (16-1).
