By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

2016 MIF Luke Bandy played in PBR Arkansas first showcase on October 4th 2014. Since that very first event I have seen him play several times in several settings including for Shiloh Christian High School, PBR Arkansas Top Prospects Games, Arkansas Prospects and at the Area Code try-outs. Bandy committed to Dallas Baptist in early July. Below you will see the different write ups I have on Bandy over the past year.

6.23.15 Area Codes
Bandy is a 6-foot, 175-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. Bandy showed is athleticism running a 6.61 in the 60. Defensively he played through the baseball with solid actions, his hands are a bit stiff. He had a long exchange but really showed off his strong arm with accuracy. Offensively he attacked the baseball with fast bat speed and a slight uphill swing plane. He maintained good balance through to extension.

6.1.15 Top Prospects Games
Bandy is a 6-foot 175-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. Defensively he played through the baseball with some stiffness in his actions. As he advances he shows better to be a second basemen but has premium athleticism. Offensively he attacks the ball with fast bat speed primarily staying to pull side during his at bats. His swing has some length with an uphill bat path. On the mound he pitched his inning locating his fastball 83-86 mph. His breaking ball had erratic command but showed good late 11/5 action thrown 71-74 mph. Overall Bandy is a premium athlete with a ton of projectability.

10.4.14
Bandy showed several above average tools during the work out. He ran his 60 in 6.75 He had smooth defensive actions with solid footwork and registered up to 82 mph across the diamond during defensive work. Bandy showed fast bat-speed and some raw power with an uphill swing plane. On the mound he worked his inning with a fastball of 81-84 that showed late life. His curveball had 10/4 action with sharp break that he threw for strikes to put hitters away.
