By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

2016 RHP/INF Blake Wynn commits to Arkansas State, while 2016 OF Noah Holt commits to Harding.

Wynn is a 6-foot 160 pound RHP/INF, with an athletic frame and build. He runs his 60 in 6.77 secs. On the mound he possess a loose quick arm, from a H ¾ arm slot. He pounds the bottom half of the strike zone with a fastball 83-86 mph and touches 87 mph. He compliments his fastball with a curveball with 11/5 break 68-71 mph. Offensively he has fast bat speed, with a line drive swing. He does a good job keeping his bat in the hitting zone for a long time, as well as staying balanced through contact. Defensively Wynn is a good athlete that will need to find a home at the collegiate, a little stiffness on the infield and inexperienced in the outfield. Overall he is a solid player that will have the opportunity to be a dual player for Arkansas State.  Wynn attends Star City HS and plays with the Arkansas Prospects in the summer.

Holt is 5-foot-9 200-pound OF with a medium frame and a physical build. Offensively Holt is an impressive left-handed hitter. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed producing exit velocities of over 85 mph on a consistent basis. Defensively he makes good read on balls in the air and has a quick delivery to an accurate arm. Athletically he runs a 7.19 in the 60, but has shown first step quickness. Holt Attends Harding Academy HS and plays for Diamond Baseball Club in the summer.

Both of these players have attended multiple PBR Arkansas Events; Underclassmen Open Showcase last fall and Arkansas Top Prospects Games in October. The Underclass Open Showcase was PBR Arkansas first event, these two commitments make it 5 of the 23 players that attended have committed with more to come over the few months.
