Player Spotlight: C Conner Ellefson (Blue Valley Northwest, 2017)

Conner Ellefson (Blue Valley Southwest, 2017) is a 6-foot-1 195-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  Recently, he attended the Top Unsigned Prospect Showcase in Wichita on October 30.

At the event, Ellefson posted some of the top numbers for uncommitted 2017 catchers. He had pop times between 2.03 and 2.12 with a 74 mph positional velo.  He posted a 93 mph exit velo and a 60 time of 7.32-seconds.

Ellefson carries a ACT score of 26 and a 3.9 GPA, and was a member of the Kansas City Royals Elite Fall Scout Team in 2016.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Ellefson: Solid Academics and Competitive Baseball
 
PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Ellefson: I started both my sophomore and junior seasons, earning All-EKL and All-KS recognition in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Batted .290 during my junior season (2016) with Blue Valley Northwest HS. In 2016, our BVNW team lost in the Regional finals.
 
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?
 
Ellefson: Goals for the 2017 season include BVNW earning a bid to the KS State Tournament, batting .330(+) and throwing out 70% of all base runners.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
 
Ellefson: I have focused on baseball since my sophomore year. Prior to that, I played travel soccer and basketball.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Ellefson: I have a 26 on my ACT 26, and an unweighted GPA of 3.9.
