Player Spotlight: RHP Caleb Rogge (Rock Creek, 2016)

Caleb Rogge (Rock Creek, 2016) is an uncommitted 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed pitcher.

Rogge has a simple delivery with flow and rhythm.  He repeats well and comes from a high three-quarters arm slot.  His fastball has late life with glove-side run and has been up to 88 mph and works 84-86 mph.  He controls his 11-to-5 curveball at 69-73 mph and his change-up has arm side sink at 79-80 mph. 

He is one of the top uncommitted pitcher in Kansas' 2016 class and is currently playing for the Kansas City Royals Elite Scout Team this fall.  He earned 2nd-Team KABC All-State honors in Class 3 last season as well as All-Mid-East-League 1st-Team honors. Here is a look at what Rogge has going on.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Rogge: In a school I would like to be apart of a good program but also has good academics so I can get a good education.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Rogge: I felt like I had a great junior year. I had a .69 ERA 73 strikeouts in 50 innings. We ended up winning the state championship and I also received 1st team all state honors as well as 4A-II pitcher of the year. Key players this year will be sophomore Carson Zenger, and seniors Nick Beyer and Justin Reiss.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Rogge: Goals for my senior year would be to repeat as a state champion in baseball and also not allow a run while pitching.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Rogge: I play for Building Champions summer and fall teams as well as Royals Scout Team.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

 Rogge: In addition to baseball I play basketball.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Rogge: 23 ACT and 3.56 GPA
