Last season, Carroll High School managed a record just above .500 at 15-13. Playing in the competitive Greater Catholic League, Coach Sheet’s squad is tested week in and week out.

This year’s squad returns five starters and two pitchers. With the combination of experienced players at key positions and the development of the pitching staff, the Patriots will be one of the team’s favored to compete for the GCL North Title.

Class of 2013

  • 2B/OF, Pat Raiff – The 5-foot-9, 165-pound speedy left-handed hitter put together a .400 average last season.
  • 3B/OF/RHP, Nate Hemmert – The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect was an all area player in the outfield last year. He shows a quick bat with some power. He will need to step up on the pitching end this spring as well.
  • SS/LF, James Wheeler – The 5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect shows some range and strength in his arm.

Class of 2014

  • LHP/1B, Tyler Seymour – The Wright State recruit will play an important role in the Patriots success both on the mound and at the plate.
  • 3B/OF, Zach Uzzel – The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect will find his way into the lineup with his versatility.
  • SS/2B, Tony Brown – The 5-foot-10, 165-pound infielder is the fastest player in the Carroll program. He shows some softness in his hands and continues to develop strength in his arm
