Last week, Kambron Bruner, the No. 76 ranked player in the class of 2013, committed to Spalding University.  We recently caught up with Bruner, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound, left-handed hitting 1B, to discuss his commitment.

PBR: Why did you choose Spalding?

Bruner: I chose Spalding because Coach Sheets does a great job, and I feel I’ll be a good fit in their successful program.

PBR:  What other schools were you considering?

Bruner: Union College

            St. Catharine

            Quincy University

PBR:  Where did the coaching staff first see you play?

Bruner:  Demarini Top 96 Showcase in Lexington

PBR:  What role do the coaches expect you to play throughout your first year?

Bruner: A freshman who works hard, and competes for a spot at 1^st base.

PBR:  What would you consider your biggest strength as a player?

Bruner:  The work ethic I put into my offensive game

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on your career as a baseball player?

Bruner: My Dad, who has pushed me to work hard at the game since day one.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer?

Bruner: Shelby County Dirtbags

PBR:  What is your most memorable baseball moment?

Bruner: Last year during our spring break trip, I hit two homeruns in one game against Anderson County Tennessee.

PBR:  Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in the state of Kentucky?

Bruner: Walker Buehler – Lexington Henry Clay

PBR:  What are your goals for your senior season at Shelby County?

Bruner: 10 HR, 50 RBI and hopefully leading my team to a Regional Championship
