Q and A with 2014 Sinclair Commit: Ben Myers (Grove City HS)

Ben Myers, LHP/OF, Grove City HS, Class of 2014

PBR: Why did you choose Sinclair?

Myers:  My ultimate goal is to play Division 1 baseball and this gives me the best option to reach that goal.  Plus, they have good facilities.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Myers:  Ohio Dominican, Morehead State, Miami, Baldwin Wallace, Vincennes, and West Virginia State.

PBR: Sinclair is known for sending many of their players to 4 year colleges.  How much of a role did that play in your decision to go to Sinclair?

Myers: That played a major role in my decision.  They also send a lot of guys to D1 schools.

PBR: Where did the Coach Dintaman first see you?

Myers:  During high school.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.

Myers:  Reb Sports Academy.  Probably hitting my first career homerun at Wright State.

PBR: Sinclair CC plays at a beautiful facility in Grady’s Field.  How much of a role did distance play in your decision?

Myers: It played a big role.  I always want to play on a nice field and it means you get a lot of home games.

PBR:  What were you stats this spring at Grove City?

Myers: .434 avg, hits 43, doubles 10, RBI 13

ERA 2.36, strikeouts 49, BB 12, inning pitched 53.33

PBR: Your high school teammate, Tyler Cowles, also committed to Sinclair.  How much of an influence did he have on your decision?

Myers: Tyler and I have been friends since 6th grade so it played a big role.  He is a great player so I look forward to playing with him for a few more years.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Myers:  Evan White (Kentucky commit)
