Q and A with 2015 Bowling Green Commit: Chase Antle (Grove City HS)

Chase Antle, RHP, Grove City HS, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose Bowling Green?

Antle:  I chose Bowling Green because as soon as I got on campus I felt at home. Also, the coaches and I got along great and I can't wait to play for them the next 4 years. Lastly, the facilities were unreal and will make it as easy as possible to get bigger, faster, and stronger.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Antle: Marshall

PBR: Where did Coach Schmitz first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?

Antle:  I believe Coach Schmitz and his staff first saw me at the PBR Top Prospect Games. After July 1st hit we spoke about once a week and got closer as the summer season went on.

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?

Antle: It is a dream come true. Growing up I knew I wanted to play at the next level and always dreamed about being a Division 1 athlete.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Antle:  The coaches expect me to earn a spot in either the bullpen or as a starter right away. I know I have a lot of work to do but can't wait to get after it.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Falcon baseball?

Antle:  I feel my biggest strength is my attitude. No matter what happens I give it my all every time on the diamond and when I fail I do my best to succeed the next time. I feel like it will make me be the best player I can be every time on the field.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Antle:  I play for Ohio Elite (Noe). My favorite experience this summer was probably just hanging out with guys from all over the state and just going out and competing every weekend.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Antle:  I had a feeling it would be stressful but that is an understatement. It was fun knowing other schools wanted me to pitch for them but added some pressure every time on the mound for sure.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Grove City?

Antle:  W/L- 7-1, ERA- 1.47 during the regular season and post season- 0.00

PBR: Who is the toughest Hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Antle: Evan White no question, he can flat out swing it.
