Recruitment Spotlight: Eric Gilgenbach 2015, 3B/OF, Stoney Creek HS

Eric Gilgenbach is PBR’s 22nd ranked prospect for the class of 2015 out of Rochester, Michigan and attends Rochester Hills Stoney Creek High School.

The 6’2, 190 pound prospect throws and bats right handed projects as a corner infielder or corner outfielder at the collegiate level.

His primary position at the high school level has been third base and he spent a majority of the off-season putting work there, but he has also played some right field and pitches as well.Gilgenbach

While Gilgenbach has not received any official offers yet, he is definitely receiving interest at the division one level from some quality programs.

He’s taken visits to schools such as Ohio, Columbia, Michigan, Western Michigan, Michigan State, Central Michigan and West Virginia. He has ties to the Big Ten Conference, as both his mom and dad attended the University of Wisconsin.

One thing Gilgenbach has going to match his talent on the baseball field is academics. He currently holds a 3.99 grade point average and scored a 30 on his ACT.

When he gets to college, he has narrowed down his potential majors to engineering, finance or kinesiology.

Along with playing baseball, Gilgenbach also plays basketball in the off-season. Other off-season work included working with hitting coach Von Joshua, who played in the major leagues for multiple teams, most recently the Milwaukee Brewers. Gilgenbach added 10 pounds in the off-season to his solid frame.
