SCHSL 5A Rankings - Week 5

1. Dorman (14-2-1)
Last Week -1

- Dorman swept Gaffney in a doubleheader last week. Russell Parry & Hunter Pruitt both doubled and tripled in the 9-3 game 2 win. The Cavs will take on Mauldin and Spartanburg this week. 

2. Fort Mill (18-1)
Last Week - 2

- The Yellow Jackets locked up the Region 3-5A championship with a sweep over Clover. Carson Jones picked up four hits on the week including a triple. FM will get the Carolina Royals, Buford, and Indian Land this week, all home games. 

3. TL Hanna (14-3) 
Last Week - 4

- Hanna completed the 4-0 week with a 6-2 win over James Island Saturday. Lance Grimm & Jackson Bryant combined for a 2-0 shutout win over Wade Hampton (G) on Tuesday. Laurens and Woodmont are next on the schedule. 

4. Berkeley (15-2) 
Last Week - 6

- The Stags took down Stratford twice last week to push their overall record to 15-2 on the season. Hayden Dawkins & Jeffrey Zeigler combined for 5 hits in the 2-1 win on Wednesday. This week will be huge with two games against Cane Bay and a single game with Summerville on tap. 

5. Blythewood (14-5) 
Last Week - 5 

- The Bengals took 2 out of 3 from Lugoff-Elgin. Landon Lucas was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored in the 11-7 win Friday night and Jake Ladd & Nate Hinson chipped in 3 hits each. Blythewood will finish up region play with a 3 game series against Spring Valley. 

6. JL Mann (14-5)
Last Week - 7 

-  The Patriots went 2-1 last week with two wins over Laurens and a loss to Greenville. Brian Graham picked up two hits including a double and Chris Payne homered in a 7-5 win. The Patriots will take on Wade Hampton twice this week with a rematch against Greenville in between. 

7. Chapin (12-7)
Last Week - 10

- Chapin jumps to number 7 after clinching the Region 5-5A title, winning two out of three against Lexington. Complete game shut outs from Cade Austin & Chris Veach highlighted the week. They will take on Lugoff-Elgin and Dreher this week. 

t8. Summerville (11-5)
Last Week - 8

- The Green Wave came from behind to defeat Bishop England last week scoring 6 runs in the 6th inning to win that game. Pedro Rios was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI's. Summerville is set up for a huge week with two games against Fort Dorchester and then AC Flora and Berkeley to end the week. 

t8. River Bluff (12-4)
Last Week - 9

The Gators offense got back on track last week in a sweep of White Knoll, scoring 29 runs in the 3 game series. Jacob Lebron collected 7 hits on the week and Brayden Fowler punched out 9 in 6.2 IP on Wednesday. They will take on Lexington this week to wrap up region play. 

9. Hillcrest (12-4)
Last Week - 3

- The Rams dropped two games to Riverside last week 15-8 and 4-3. Trotter Harlan & Wyatt Stone each collected two hits in the 4-3 loss. Hillcrest will square off with Byrnes this week. 

t10. Riverside (11-6)
Last Week - NR

- The Warriors beat Hillcrest twice last week to jump back into the top 10. Caden Grice homered and threw 3 scoreless innings in the 4-3 win. Riverside will look to keep building momentum this week with two games against Boiling Springs and a single game with Eastside. 

t10. Nation Ford (13-5)
Last Week - NR

- The Falcons are back in the Top 10 after sweeping Rock Hill last week and solidifying their place behind Fort Mill in region 3-5A. Jeffery Maidhof threw 7.0 innings in a 3-1 win on Monday. NaFo will take on Northwestern this week to finish up region play.
