Seniors Lead the Way for No. 14 Fishers

Fishers, IN – Fishers’ offense powered their way to a 9-4 win on Thursday over visiting conference foe Lafayette Harrison. J.P. Pena (2012) got the offense on the board in the first with a two out RBI single to centerfield. In the second Fishers added two more with back to back two out RBI singles from Drew Clark (2012, Heartland CC) and Garrett Schlotter (2013).

Harrison’s Nick Bartolone (2012, Butler) cut the deficit to 3-2 with a line drive two RBI single in center in the third, but that would be as close as Harrison would get. Blake Baumgartner (2012, Anderson) would come in after that throwing the last 4.2 innings allowing just three hits.

Fishers broke the game open in the fourth scoring four runs. Schlotter scored on a passed ball then Matt Woolwine (2012, John A. Logan) doubled down the right field line to bring in another. Pena singled to drive in Woolwine and would later score on an error, to give Fishers a 7-2 lead.

Fishers added a run in the fifth and the sixth. In the fifth Clark had his second RBI single of the game and in the sixth Woolwin drove a ball over the left centerfield wall to put Fishers up 9-3. Harrison would load the bases in the top of the 7th, but Baumgartner was able to close out the inning allowing just one run. Fishers improved to 17-3 on the season.
