State Championship Preview: 3A

The 3A State Championship will be decided on Saturday 21st at 12:30 pm on the campus of the University of Arkansas and the prestigious Baum Stadium.
Booneville: A young team that has peaked at the right time winners of 9 straight. This years roster has had an influx of young talent with 2019 OF/RHP Michael Hesson and 2019 OF/RHP Brandon Ulmer. This two raw athletes give a spark offensively.
Horatio: A battle tested group reaching the state semi-finals the past three season. This year they pushed through beating the ultra-talented Harding Academy in the semifinals. They have rode a dominant pitching staff, led by three seniors. I expect 2016 RHP Tanner Vaught to get the ball in the finals. Offensively 2016 C/RHP Cole Boyd could be a difference maker. The dynamic athlete has bat speed that could change the game with one swing of the bat.

My preseason pick was Horatio. I will stay with them Vaught should be too much to handle for the talented young group from Booneville. Horatio should win the schools 5th state title and the first since 2007.
